A STRUCTURE ADAPTED TO CARRY ONE OR MORE PERSONS

A structure adapted to carry one or more persons is disclosed. The structure includes a sliding surface mounted on a supporting structure at a predetermined angle, wherein the sliding surface includes a first passage, a transition passage and a second passage. The first passage is configured to be connected with the second passage via the transition passage. The first passage and the second passage have decreasing radius of curvature towards the transition passage, thereby reducing oscillation amplitude of a person and guide the person towards a second opening. The person is tangentially launched onto the lager diameter of the first passage and is guide onto the second passage via the transition passage and is guided to an exit. The structure provides for an increased travel time.

Amusement ride vehicle and vehicle control system

An amusement ride vehicle has a body and at least one of recesses and protrusions on a perimeter surface of body. The at least one of recesses and protrusions defining fluid impact surfaces. The fluid impact surfaces being at an angle to an intended direction of motion of the vehicle. The fluid impact surfaces are adapted to affect motion of the vehicle when the fluid impact surfaces are impacted by a fluid.

Water amusement ride motion governor

A ride system includes a flume providing a flow path of a water ride and configured to accommodate a buoyant ride vehicle. The ride system also includes a support element extending into the flow path and at least partially submerged within the flow path. Moreover, the ride system includes a driving mechanism configured to actuate the support element such that the support element moves relative to the flow path in response to a control signal. The support element is configured to contact the buoyant ride vehicle to control movement of the buoyant ride vehicle along the flow path while the support element is being actuated. Further, the ride system includes a controller configured to generate the control signal based at least in part on a location of the buoyant ride vehicle in the flow path and a timer controlling activation of a show element.

A swimming pool slide comprising a pool slide shell and a slide flume formed in the shell to direct downhill sliding motion of a human rider. An interior water conduit transports water from a water source, through the slide shell to a top end of the flume. A slide shell base may be configured to allow for re-positioning of the slide to a proper/desired position relative to a pool edge after having connected the interior water conduit to a water source fixture in a pool deck. The slide may include a water stream shaper comprising a manifold that receives water from the conduit and re-shapes it into a sheet and redirects it onto the slide flume

Padded grate drainage system for water rides

A padded grating system comprising sheets of multiple composite members secured together with multiple support bars or battens, wherein each composite member preferably consists of an elongated rigid bar with a foam layer adhered thereto which are encapsulated by a PVC or plastic water impervious tube or sleeve that has been heated and shrunk thereon. The sheets are specifically designed to be used in connection with water rides such as the FlowRider® and can be modularly installed on site to cover certain drainage areas. The composite members are preferably made by gluing the rigid bars onto a sheet of foam and cutting the foam sheet to form the composite members, and after the tube or sleeve has been heat shrunk around each one, the ends of the composite members are then cut and sealed.

Network-controllable physical resources for sensory service

Methods, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for adjusting a network-controllable physical resource of a sensory service in response to biometric data for a group of users are disclosed. In one example, a processing system including at least one processor may gather biometric data of each user of a group of users of a sensory service. The sensory service may comprise at least one network-controllable physical resource. The processing system may then aggregate the biometric data for the group of users and tailor the sensory service for the group of users based upon the biometric data for the group of users that is aggregated. In one example, the tailoring of the sensory service may include adjusting the at least one network-controllable physical resource in response to the biometric data that is aggregated for the group of users.
