STOP FOR A RAIL
20200255036 · 2020-08-13 ·

A stop for stopping a trolley on a rail is described. The trolley comprises a set of wheels, including a first wheel and the rail provides, at least in part, a running surface, including a first portion and a second portion thereof, for the first wheel. The stop comprises an actuator providing a third portion of the running surface between the first portion and the second portion and an arm, coupled to the actuator. The stop is arrangeable in a first configuration, wherein the arm is arranged to block the trolley therepast. The stop is arrangeable in a second configuration, wherein the arm is arranged to allow the trolley therepast. The stop is arranged to move from the first configuration to the second configuration by actuation of the actuator, preferably by a movement of the actuator in a direction transverse to the third portion of the running surface.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANEUVERING A VEHICLE

An amusement park ride vehicle includes a chassis, a cabin, a slider, and a rotator. The chassis is configured to direct the ride vehicle along a ride path in a direction of travel. The cabin is configured to hold one or more passengers. The slider is configured to translate between a neutral position and a cantilevered position relative to the chassis in a direction substantially transverse to the direction of travel and to carry the rotator and the cabin along the direction substantially transverse to the direction of travel. The rotator is coupled between the slider and the cabin, and is configured to rotate the cabin relative to the slider.

A play apparatus has plural types of elevated equipment, namely a ropes course and a zip coaster. Both types of elevated equipment have respective user safety supports that extend along the respective equipment and receive a safety harness worn by a user. The user need not change safety harnesses to use the different types of equipment. The entry and exit locations for the elevated equipment are in a common area elevated above the ground. A third type of equipment, namely an obstacle course, is located under and above the common area.

Wire Rope and Track Transport System

A mechanical assemblage similar to a traditional zipline, where a wheeled cart travels with the assistance of gravity along a guide cable strung between two points. However, this new system allows the cart to travel further, along multiple segments of guide cable and track, connected to each other by an unique attachment system which allows the cart to travel unabated, from cable to track and back to cable, by allowing the mounting attachments for the track segments to pass through an opening in the side of the cart and then close the opening to make it impossible for the guide cable to escape the cart, while riding on the guide cable. This is the most compact, simple and highly functional solution yet presented for genuine cable and track zipline system able to function with only the potential energy of gravity.

An indoor zip coaster has a zip coaster rail suspended above ground and forming a closed loop. At least one trolley located is on the rail, with a rider tethered to the trolley by a harness. The rail has plural sections, with each section of the rail including an incline portion and a decline portion. The trolley traverses the respective incline portion of one of the sections before traversing the respective decline portion of the one section. Each of the stations contains a respective incline portion of rail, a ramp for the rider to climb. The decline portion of rail of the next section extends from one station to the next station. By including stations with inclined portions of rail along the zip coaster path, a longer ride can be obtained. In addition, sensors and gates can be provided at the stations to allow a single rider on each rail section, with multiple riders on the overall zip coaster spread among the sections.
