CATALYST TREATMENT DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
Provided are a catalyst treatment device and a method of manufacturing the catalyst treatment device. In the catalyst treatment device, the catalyst component can be used in a smaller amount and at a lower cost without need of equipment such as casing, and can suppress excessive pressure loss with adequate voids occurring when the supported catalyst is loaded for use. The catalyst treatment device of the present invention includes a supported catalyst having a corrugated and fragmentary form, wherein the supported catalyst includes a glass paper having a corrugated and fragmentary form, a catalyst activity component supported on the glass paper and having catalytic action, and an inorganic binder necessary to cause the catalyst activity component to be supported on the glass paper and make the glass paper into a corrugated form.
LOW PRESSURE DROP PACKING MATERIAL STRUCTURES
A packed bed includes a vessel including a shell, an inlet, and an outlet, wherein the space inside the shell between the inlet and outlet forms an internal volume; a plurality of packing material structures filling at least a portion of the internal volume thereby forming a packed volume, wherein the packed volume has a void fraction, and the packing material structures provide an aggregate surface area; and the vessel has a pressure drop between the vessel inlet and vessel outlet, wherein the pressure drop is less than 1.0 times that of a packed bed of the non-twisted shapes with the same cross-section.
CATALYST HAVING A HELICAL OUTER SHAPE, IMPROVING HYDRODYNAMICS IN REACTORS
A catalyst for catalytic reactors of which the outer shape is a helix with n blades, where n is greater than or equal to 1, wherein the stack void fraction percentage is between 75% and 85% and the surface area/volume ratio is greater than 1000 square meters/square meters.
Gas-solid contacting system with structured packing
A gas-solid contacting system (100) with structured packing (108) is disclosed. The structured packing (108) comprises a gas header (102) with an inlet to receive a gas. A plurality of vertically aligned tubes (104) is fluidically connected to the gas header (102), wherein each vertically aligned tube (104) comprises openings (180) to distribute the gas at different heights in a radial direction. A structured packing element (106) is arranged on each vertically aligned tube (104), wherein the structured packing element (106) comprises one or more plates attached to the vertically aligned tube (104) to create a convoluted 3-dimensional flow path for smooth flow and radial distribution of a solid particulate stream.
Heat transfer packing element
A packing element for use in a heat exchange or mass transfer tower includes a barrel and a plurality of fins spaced around a circumference of the barrel, each fin having a height approximately equal to a height of the barrel and a length extending radially from the barrel, a proximate end of each fin attached perpendicularly to the barrel. A protrusion extends outward from the distal end or each fin along its height. A method for mass transfer includes passing fluids through a vessel packed with randomly arranged packing elements.
