Support structure for structured catalyst packings
A support structure for a structured catalytic packing is disclosed. The support structure is in a fixed position relative to the reactor tube containing it. It supports catalyzed casings that are free to move relative to the support structure. The support structure and casings are inserted in the reactor tube such that the support structure is located proximate the longitudinal axis of the tube and the casings are located between the support structure and the reactor tube wall. The support structure comprises a central support tube or rod proximate to, and impervious or perforated discs perpendicular to, the longitudinal axis of the reactor tube, and may comprise spacers separating the discs.
CATALYST SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THE CATALYTIC COMBUSTION OF AMMONIA TO FORM NITROGEN OXIDES IN A MEDIUM-PRESSURE SYSTEM
Known catalyst systems for the catalytic combustion of ammonia to form nitrogen oxides consist of a plurality of single- or multilayer catalyst gauzes warp-knitted, weft-knitted or woven from platinum-based noble metal wire, which, when arranged one behind the other in a fresh gas flow direction, form a front group of gauze layers and at least one downstream group of gauze layers arranged after the front group. To provide from this starting point a catalyst system for use in a medium-pressure plant for ammonia oxidation, with which a high service life and a high yield of the main product NO can be achieved, it is proposed that the front group comprises a gauze layer or a plurality of gauze layers made of a first, rhodium-rich noble metal wire, wherein the gauze layer or one of the gauze layers made of the rhodium-rich noble metal wire is a front gauze layer facing the fresh gas, and that the downstream group comprises gauze layers made of a second, rhodium-poor noble metal wire, wherein the rhodium content in the rhodium-rich noble metal wire is at least 7 wt. % and no more than 9 wt. % and is at least 1 percentage point higher than the rhodium content in the rhodium-poor noble metal wire
RESATURATION OF GAS INTO A LIQUID FEEDSTREAM
A method for enabling gas exchange and chemical reactions with one or more liquid streams contained in a reactive process vessel are provided. One or more exchange layers within the process vessel can be composed of both collector media and releaser media. The exchange layers allow elements to facilitate increased performance of vessel operations by promoting gas component mixing and diffusion. Improved rates of gas component exchange mean less coking and more gas components available for reaction.
The support structure comprises a central support tube or rod proximate to, and impervious or perforated discs perpendicular to, the longitudinal axis of the reactor tube, and may comprise spacers separating the discs.
Apparatus for converting a feed gas into a product gas
Apparatus for converting feed gas (28) into a product gas (29), comprising at least one reactor (1) with a reaction chamber (15) bounded by the inner wall of an outer tube (4) closed at a first outer end and an inner tube (14) received coaxially in this outer tube (4) and provided at both its outer ends with openings, which reactor (1) is provided with an inlet chamber (11) and with an outlet chamber (10), wherein a first wall (31) of the outlet chamber (10) encloses the outer tube (4) and extends therefrom, and a second wall (12) of the outlet chamber (10) lying opposite the first wall (31) encloses the outer tube (4) and extends therefrom, and the inlet chamber (11) is bounded by the second wall (12) of the outlet chamber (10) and a third wall (47) which lies opposite this second wall (12), encloses the outer tube (4) and extends therefrom.
Structured packing element formed by a flat plate provided with slots and recesses
A structured packing element has the shape of a rectangular flat plate, and is provided with slots and recesses. The slots are intended for assembly by interlocking the structured packing elements together in order to form the structured packing. The recesses are provided in order to form channels within the structured packing. A packing structure can be obtained by assembling such packing elements. Such a packing can be used for an operation of bringing a gas and a catalyst into contact. A manufacturing process of such a structured packing is also disclosed.

Structured packing for catalytic distillation
A catalytic distillation structure that may include a rigid framework having at least two grids with a plurality of horizontal fluid permeable tubes mounted to said grids to form a plurality of fluid pathways among the plurality of horizontal fluid permeable tubes. Additionally, each horizontal fluid permeable tubes may have a profile of a six-sided polygon. Further, the catalytic distillation structure may include a plurality of vertically plates or wires connecting vertically aligned tubes of the plurality of horizontal fluid permeable tubes. Furthermore, the plurality of vertically plates or wires connects from a corner of one vertically aligned tubes to a corner of an adjacent vertically aligned tube.
REACTOR
In a reactor, a first reference position is presumed to be defined by a straight line in contact with a first open end of the introduction port on the side bent toward the second flow channel and extending in the direction intersecting with the second flow channels, and a second reference position is presumed to be defined by a straight line in contact with a second open end of the introduction port on the opposite side of the first open end and extending in the direction intersecting with the second flow channel. At least part of the catalyst body is provided at least either in a region defined between the first reference position and the second reference position, or in a region defined between the second reference position and an inlet position of the first flow channels.
