The present disclosure provides a method for efficiently producing and providing compounds having a spirooxindole skeleton, for example compounds having a spirooxindole skeleton and having antitumor activity that inhibit the interaction between Mdm2 protein and p53 protein, or intermediates thereof, using an asymmetric catalyst. Compounds having optically active tricyclic dispiroindole skeletons are obtained through catalytic asymmetric 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction using ketimine as a reaction substrate and using a chiral ligand and a Lewis acid.

TRI-(ADAMANTYL)PHOSPHINES AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
20180304248 · 2018-10-25 ·

In one aspect, phosphine compounds comprising three adamantyl moieties (PAd.sub.3) and associated synthetic routes are described herein. Each adamantyl moiety may be the same or different. For example, each adamantyl moiety (Ad) attached to the phosphorus atom can be independently selected from the group consisting of adamantane, diamantane, triamantane and derivatives thereof. Transition metal complexes comprising PAd.sub.3 ligands are also provided for catalytic synthesis including catalytic cross-coupling reactions.

In one aspect, a catalyst composition for a hydroformylation process comprises (a) a transition metal; (b) a monophosphine; and (c) a tetraphosphine having the structure described herein, and wherein the composition comprises at least 40 moles of monophosphine per mole of transition metal.

Isocarbostyril alkaloids and functionalization thereof

Enantioselective total syntheses of the anticancer isocarbostyril alkaloids (+)-7-deoxypancratistatin, (+)-pancratistatin, (+)-lycoricidine, and (+)-narciclasine are described. Our strategy for accessing this unique class of natural products is based on the development of a Ni-catalyzed dearomative trans-1,2-carboamination of benzene. The effectiveness of this dearomatization approach is notable, as only two additional olefin functionalizations are needed to construct the fully decorated aminocyclitol cores of these alkaloids. Installation of the lactam ring has been achieved through several pathways and a direct interconversion between natural products was established via a late-stage C-7 cupration. Using this synthetic blueprint, we were able to produce natural products on a gram scale and provide tailored analogs with improved activity, solubility, and metabolic stability.

COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR SELECTIVE OLEFIN OLIGOMERIZATION COMPRISING METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORKS

Compositions and methods for selective olefin (e.g., ethylene) oligomerization comprising metal organic frameworks (MOFs) are generally provided In some embodiments, a MOF comprises a plurality of metal ions, each coordinated with at least one ligand comprising at least two unsaturated N-heterocyclic aromatic groups arranged about an organic core.

ELECTROCHEMICAL RECYCLING OF HOMOGENEOUS CATALYSTS

Herein disclosed is a new electrochemical approach to catalyst capture and recycling that overcomes conventional industrial recovery methods using functionalized redox-polymer electrodes. This technology provides a redox electro-separation system comprising polyvinylferrocene that was able to capture platinum group metal based catalysts directly from products and transfer to fresh reactants achieving 99.5% recovery without disturbing catalyst activity. Several reactions were tested along with various solvent-electrolyte matrices, showing >99% recovery efficiencies for platinum species as low as 1.6 ppm.
