METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR THE CATALYTIC UPGRADING OF ALCOHOLS
Compositions and methods of use related to metal organic frameworks (MOFs) and/or nanoparticles are generally described. In some embodiments, methods and compositions for the catalytic upgrading of alcohols using MOFs and/or nanoparticles associated with MOFs are generally described. In some embodiments, a catalytic MOF composition is provided, wherein the MOF composition comprises a MOF compound and a plurality of metal catalytic compounds. In some embodiments, an alcohol may be exposed to the MOF composition and/or a plurality of nanoparticles associated with the MOF composition such that the alcohol is converted to a higher order alcohol. Advantageously, in some embodiments, the alcohol conversion occurs at a relatively high turnover frequency and/or with a relatively high selectivity as compared to traditional methods for converting alcohols.
CHIRAL BINUCLEAR METAL COMPLEXES FOR STEREOSELECTIVE HYDROLYSIS OF SACCHARIDES AND GLYCOSIDES
Disclosed herein is a class of chiral binuclear metal complexes for stereoselective hydrolysis of saccharides and glycosides, and more particular chiral binuclear transition metal complex catalysts that discriminate epimeric glycosides and α- and β-glycosidic bonds of saccharides in aqueous solutions at near physiological pHs. The chiral binuclear metal complexes include a Schiff-base-type ligand derived from a chiral diamino building block, and a binuclear transition metal core, each which can be varied for selectivity. The metal core is a Lewis-acidic metal ion, such as copper, zinc, lanthanum, iron and nickel. The Schiff-base may be a reduced or non-reduced Schiff-base derived from aliphatic linear, aliphatic cyclic diamino alcohols or aromatic aldehydes. The ligand can be a penta- or heptadentate ligand derived from pyridinecarbaldehydes, benzaldehydes, linear or cyclic diamines or diamino alcohols.
PROCESS TO CONTINUOUSLY PREPARE A CYCLIC CARBONATE
The invention is directed to a process to continuously prepare a cyclic carbonate product by reacting an epoxide compound with carbon dioxide in the presence of a supported dimeric aluminium salen complex. The process is performed in a reactor comprising a slurry of the supported dimeric aluminium salen complex and liquid cyclic carbonate product. The produced cyclic carbonate is discharged from the reactor while the supported dimeric aluminium salen complex remains in the reactor. The liquid carbonate product is purified by means of distillation. Between the reactor and the distillation one or more buffer vessels are present having a volume of between 5 and 50 m.sup.3 per kmol of dimeric aluminium salen complex as present in the reactor.
MANGANESE-CATALYSED HYDROGENATION OF ESTERS
The present invention relates to the field of catalytic hydrogenation and, more particularly, to methods of manganese-catalysed hydrogenation of esters to alcohols. Advantageously, where the esters are chiral, the hydrogenations proceed with high or complete stereochemical integrity.

Chiral binuclear metal complexes for stereoselective hydrolysis of saccharides and glycosides
Disclosed herein is a class of chiral binuclear metal complexes for stereoselective hydrolysis of saccharides and glycosides, and more particular chiral binuclear transition metal complex catalysts that discriminate epimeric glycosides and - and -glycosidic bonds of saccharides in aqueous solutions at near physiological pHs. The ligand can be a penta- or heptadentate ligand derived from pyridinecarbaldehydes, benzaldehydes, linear or cyclic diamines or diamino alcohols.
Method for the preparation of organopolysiloxanes having (meth)acrylate functions
The invention relates to a method for preparing polyorganosiloxanes functionalized by (meth)acrylate groups, preferably acrylate groups.
PROCESS AND CATALYSTS FOR THE OXIDATION AND/OR AMMOXIDATION OF OLEFIN
Embodiments of the present disclosure describe a catalyst and/or a precatalyst, in particular a single site catalyst and/or a single site precatalyst, for the oxidation and/or ammoxidation of olefins to produce aldehydes and/or nitriles, methods of preparing a corresponding catalyst and/or precatalyst, in particular single site catalyst and/or single site precatalyst, and methods of using said catalyst and/or precatalyst, in particular said single site catalyst and/or single site precatalyst, to produce aldehydes and/or nitriles.
Chromium catalyst precursor, ethylene oligomerization catalyst including the same, and method of preparing ethylene oligomer
Provided are a chromium catalyst precursor, an ethylene oligomerization catalyst including the same, and a method of preparing an ethylene oligomer using the same. More particularly, a chromium catalyst precursor which may oligomerize ethylene with high activity and high selectivity in spite of not using methylaluminoxane (MAO) or modified-methylaluminoxane (MMAO), an oligomerization catalyst including the same, and a method of preparing an ethylene oligomer using the same are provided.
