Process for hydrocyanation of terminal alkynes
The present invention refers to a process for a Rh-catalyzed Anti-Markovnikov hydrocyanation of terminal alkynes which process discloses, for the first time, the highly stereo- and regio-selective hydrocyanation of terminal alkynes to furnish E-configured alkenyl nitriles and the catalyst used in the present process.
Method of Making Colloidal Suspensions of Metal Organic Frameworks in Polymeric Solutions and Uses Thereof
A method for making a metal organic framework suspension is described herein. The method includes providing a hybrid material comprising a nano-crystalline metal organic framework comprising micropores and a mesoporous polymeric material comprising mesopores, wherein the nano-crystalline metal organic framework is homogeneously dispersed and substantially present only within the mesopores or void spaces of the mesoporous polymeric material; and wherein the hybrid material has a weight percentage of the metal organic framework in the range of 5-50% relative to the total weight of the hybrid material. The method includes contacting the hybrid material with a solvent in which the mesoporous polymeric material is soluble, thereby forming a polymeric solution in which the nano-crystalline metal organic framework is substantially homogeneously dispersed and suspended.
STRONGLY LEWIS ACIDIC METAL-ORGANIC FRAMEWORKS FOR CONTINUOUS FLOW CATALYSIS
Lewis acidic metal-organic framework (MOF) materials comprising triflate-coordinated metal nodes are described. The materials can be used as heterogenous catalysts in a wide range of organic group transformations, including Diels-Alder reactions, epoxide-ring opening reactions, Friedel-Crafts acylation reactions and alkene hydroalkoxylation reactions. The MOFs can also be prepared with metallated organic bridging ligands to provide heterogenous catalysts for tandem reactions and/or prepared as composites with support particles for use in columns of continuous flow reactor systems. Methods of preparing and using the MOF materials and their composites are also described.
WATER STABLE COPPER PADDLEWHEEL METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORK (MOF) COMPOSITIONS AND PROCESSES USING THE MOFS
This invention relates to a Cu-BTC MOF which is water stable. The Cu-BTC MOF has been modified by substituting some of the BTC ligand (1,3,5, benzene tricarboxylic acid) with 5-aminoisophthalic acid (AIA). The resultant MOF retains at least 40% of its as synthesized surface area after exposure to liquid water at 60 C. for 6 hours. This is an unexpected result versus the MOF containing only the BTC ligand. This MOF can be used to abate contaminants such as ammonia in gas streams and especially air streams.
WATER STABLE COPPER PADDLEWHEEL METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORK (MOF) COMPOSITIONS AND PROCESSES USING THE MOFS
This invention relates to a Cu-BTC MOF which is water stable. The Cu-BTC MOF has open coordination sites and has been post synthesis modified by partially occupying the open sites with a ligand such as acetonitrile (CH.sub.3CN). The resultant MOF retains at least 40% of its as synthesized surface area after exposure to liquid water at 60 C. for 6 hours. This is an unexpected result versus the MOF which has not been post treated with ligands such as acetonitrile. This MOF can be used to abate contaminants such as ammonia in gas streams and especially air streams.
PDO OR BMTZ LIGAND FOR SUPPORTED COORDINATED PT HYDROSILYLATION CATALYSTS
The invention describes single-site metal catalysts such as Pt single-site centers on powdered oxide supports with a 1,10-phenanthroline-5,6-dione (PDO) or bis-pyrimidyltetrazine (BMTZ) ligand on powdered MgO, Al.sub.2O.sub.3, or CeO.sub.2.
Production of metal-organic frameworks
An apparatus for producing metal organic frameworks, comprising: a tubular flow reactor comprising a tubular body into which, in use, precursor compounds which form the metal organic framework are fed and flow, said tubular body including at least one annular loop.
ORDERED MACROPOROUS METAL-ORGANIC FRAMEWORK SINGLE CRYSTALS AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
An ordered macroporous metal-organic framework single crystals and a preparation method therefor. In the method, a three-dimensional structure constructed by polymer microspheres is used as a template; 2-methylimidazole and zinc nitrate, precursors of MOFs, are firstly deposited in the three-dimensional template; the three-dimensional template containing the precursors is soaked in a mixed solution of ammonia water and methanol subsequently, and the three-dimensional template is taken out after crystallization; the three-dimensional template is soaked in an organic solvent to remove the macromolecular three-dimensional template, and the ordered macroporous MOF single crystals is obtained through centrifugal separation. The ordered macroporous MOF single crystals have a basic framework of zeolitic imidazolate framework-8, and structurally include highly-ordered macro-pores whose pore size may be controlled to be between 50 and 2000 nm based on a size of the used template.

The invention further relates to the homogeneous hybrid inorganic-organic precipitate material obtainable or obtained by the process, in particular carbon alumina hybrid material, to shaped articles like fibers and particles comprising said hybrid material and the use thereof for the manufacture ofor as a component incatalysts, sorbents, building and construction materials, packaging materials, paper materials, coatings and polymers.
MAGNETIC FE2O3 NANOSPHERES WITH PNH SURFACE MODIFICATION AND APPLICATION HEREOF IN WATER TREATMENT
The present invention provides a magnetic Fe.sub.2O.sub.3 nanosphere with PNH surface modification and application thereof in water treatment. First, 2,2-bipyridyl-5,5-dicarboxylic acid is reacted with thionyl chloride to obtain 2,2-bipyridyl-5,5-diacid chloride; then 2,2-bipyridyl-5,5-diacid chloride and 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane react in the presence of triethylamine to obtain a polynitrogen heterocyclic polymer; the polynitrogen heterocyclic polymer is added into an aqueous solution with iron salt to obtain a magnetic Fe.sub.2O.sub.3 nanosphere with PNH surface modification which has strong light absorption ability, which improves its ability to catalyze in degradation of tetracycline under visible light, so that the pollutants are removed from water.
