This invention relates generally to olefin metathesis catalyst compounds, to the preparation of such compounds, compositions comprising such compounds, methods of using such compounds, articles of manufacture comprising such compounds, and the use of such compounds in the metathesis of olefins and olefin compounds. The invention has utility in the fields of catalysts, organic synthesis, polymer chemistry, and industrial and fine chemicals industry.
Method for the polymerization of cycloolefins by means of ring-opening metathesis
The present invention relates to a method for the polymerization of cycloolefins by ring-opening metathesis. The reaction is carried out in the presence of at least one particular catalyst, selected from the ruthenium alkylidene complexes comprising at least one 1-aryl-3-cycloalkyl-imidazolin-2-ylidene ligand and mixtures thereof. The invention also relates to a kit for implementing this method.
BIOFUEL AND METHOD FOR PREPARATION BY ISOMERIZING METATHESIS
Subject of the invention is a process for producing a biofuel from fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) obtained by transesterification of vegetable oils, comprising the steps of (a) ethenolysis of the fatty acid methyl esters in the presence of ethylene and an ethenolysis catalyst, and (b) isomerizing metathesis in the presence of an isomerization catalyst and a metathesis catalyst.
The invention also relates to biofuels obtainable by the inventive process and to uses of ethylene for adjusting and optimizing biofuels.
REACTIONS OF OLEFIN DERIVATIVES IN THE PRESENCE OF METHATHESIS CATALYSTS
The invention provides a method for synthesizing musk macrocycles comprising contacting an easily accessible diene starting materials bearing a Z-olefin moiety and performing a ring closing metathesis reaction in the presence of a Group 8 olefin metathesis catalyst.
Process for the trans-selective hydroboration of internal alkynes
The present invention refers to a process for the trans-selective hydroboration of internal alkynes and the so-obtained products. The inventive process makes use of a borane of the formula X.sup.1X.sup.2BH selected from the group of dialkyl boranes or di(alkoxy)boranes which are reacted with the internal alkynes in the presence of a cyclyopentadienyl-coordinated ruthenium catalyst.

A highly efficient method for the conversion of a natural product into the high density fuel RJ-4 with concomitant evolution of isobutylene for conversion to fuels and polymers, more specifically, embodiments of the invention relate to efficient methods for the conversion of the renewable, linear terpene alcohol, linalool into a drop-in, high density fuel suitable for ramjet or missile propulsion.
SYNTHESIS METHOD AND SYNTHESIS DEVICE FOR CYCLODODECENE
A synthesis method and a synthesis device of cyclododecene according to the present invention have a high conversion rate of cyclododecatriene which is a reactant and a high selectivity of cyclododecene which is a required product, and even so, have an effect of significantly decreasing a reaction time. In addition, the method and the device have an excellent conversion rate of cyclododecatriene and an excellent selectivity of cyclododecene, while maintaining excellent reactivity without an organic solvent such as ethanol. Therefore, a volume of the reactor relative to an output of cyclododecene may be further decreased. Moreover, the method and the device may minimize costs for facilities and process, are practical, decrease a process time, and are industrially advantageous for mass production as compared with the conventional art.
