Stabilization of active metal catalysts at metal-organic framework nodes for highly efficient organic transformations
Metal-organic framework (MOFs) compositions based on postsynthetic metalation of secondary building unit (SBU) terminal or bridging OH or OH.sub.2 groups with metal precursors or other post-synthetic manipulations are described. The MOFs provide a versatile family of recyclable and reusable single-site solid catalysts for catalyzing a variety of asymmetric organic transformations, including the regioselective boryiation and siiylation of benzyiic CH bonds, the hydrogenation of aikenes, imines, carbonyls, nitroarenes, and heterocycles, hydroboration, hydrophosphination, and cyclization reactions. The solid catalysts can also be integrated into a flow reactor or a supercritical fluid reactor.

A composition is also disclosed, which comprises: (A) an unsaturated compound including at least one aliphatically unsaturated group per molecule, subject to at least one of the following two provisos: (1) the (A) unsaturated compound also includes at least one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom per molecule; and/or (2) the composition further comprises (B) a silicon hydride compound including at least one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom per molecule. The composition further comprises (C) the catalyst. A method of preparing a hydrosilylation reaction product and a dehydrogenative silylation reaction product are also disclosed.
CATALYTIC CONVERSION OF CARBON DIOXIDE TO METHANOL
The present disclosure relates to a new catalytic process for the production of methanol from carbon dioxide, comprising: (1) the conversion of carbon dioxide and hydrogen to formic acid or formate salts; (2) converting the formic acid or formate salts to diformate esters of diols; (3) hydrogenating the diformate esters to methanol and diols. The diols produced from the hydrogenation reaction can be recovered and re-used to prepare the diformate esters.
Catalyst systems and polymerization processes for using the same

Processes and systems for improved alkyl ester production from feedstocks containing organic acids using low pressure alkylation
Provided are industrial processes for producing an organic acid alky ester from a feedstock containing organic acids and/or saponifiables, comprising: countercurrently contacting a feedstock with an organic alkylating reagent over two or more vessels or stages at temperature between 100 C. and 400 C. and pressure between 0.1 barg and 355 barg while simultaneously removing water and/or glycerin with unreacted alkylating reagent from the final vessel or stage to result in a first reaction method product containing organic acid alkyl esters, followed by a choice of using the alkyl esters as-is, purifying the organic acid alkyl esters from the first reaction product mixture or subjecting the first reaction product mixture to an additional transesterification reaction to convert saponifiables into additional organic acid alkyl esters, then purifying the organic acid alkyl esters from this second reaction method product.
Method for synthesizing chiral beta-hydroxy acid ester compound
A method for synthesizing a chiral -hydroxy acid ester compound is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: using an aldehyde compound and a monoalkyl malonate as raw materials, using a metal and a chiral ligand as a catalyst to make the raw materials be directly and fully reacted in an organic solvent and form a reaction solution, and separating and purifying the reaction solution to obtain the highly stereoselective -hydroxy acid ester compound. The beneficial effects are mainly embodied in: 1. simple operation; 2. rapidly constructing a highly stereoselective -hydroxy acid ester skeleton structure molecule; 3. high reaction yield and good stereoselectivity. Therefore, the invention has high basic research significance, industrial production value and social economic benefit.
