A fluid sampler system includes a fluidic head including a gas aperture capable of communication with a pressurized gas source, a liquid conduit capable of communication with a sample reservoir, and a seal capable of forming a compression seal to the sample reservoir when gas pressure is applied to the sample reservoir through the gas aperture and capable of displacing a portion of the sample through the liquid conduit; and a positioning apparatus capable of positioning the fluidic head and the sample reservoir in communication with one another. A method for providing an aliquot of sample, includes forming a releasable compression seal to a reservoir including a liquid sample; pressurizing the reservoir with compressed gas; displacing an aliquot of the sample from the reservoir; and transferring the displaced aliquot of the sample to a location.

FLUID HANDLING SYSTEM

The present invention addresses the problem of providing a fluid handling system that is capable of injecting a fluid into a desired chip or the like without using a large-scale device. In order to resolve the problem, this fluid handling system has a reservoir, a flow path chip, and a cap, one end of which is fitted to the internal opening of the reservoir and the other end of which is connected to an introduction port of the flow path chip, the cap having a through-hole that links the one end and the other end. In this fluid handling system, a protruding part provided to the flow path chip is fitted into the through-hole at the other end of the cap and restricts blocking of the through-hole when a fluid moves inside the through-hole of the cap.

An automated analyzer includes a rod-like member 12a, a driving portion 12c, and a control mechanism 30. The driving portion 12c lifts and lowers the rod-like member 12a a direction of being inserted into and removed from the container 24. The control mechanism 30 controls the driving portion 12c so that the rod-like member 12a is lifted after being lowered so that a tip portion of the rod-like member 12a reaches a first position in the liquid L, and at a time when the rod-like member 12a reaches a second position where the tip portion is not separated from the liquid, an upward motion of the rod-like member 12a is stopped for a given period of time to reduce liquid film adhering to the rod-like member.

Controlling traffic without integrating with a security vendor

Embodiments are directed to providing access without determining an identity of a requester. A fixture may receive a rule pertaining to access to a floor of a building. The fixture may receive a request to access the floor of the building. The fixture may grant access to the floor based on a determination that the rule indicates that access to the floor should be granted.

Sample analyzer and reagent container

A sample analyzer comprises a reagent container setting part configured to install a reagent-container retainer for retaining a reagent container having an opening, an aspirating tube configured to aspirate a reagent in the reagent container, and an aspirating tube holder configured to hold the aspirating tube. The aspirating tube holder includes a cover, the cover having an open portion provided from a bottom face thereof to a side face thereof, the cover covering the aspirating tube with a region thereof other than the open portion. The aspirating tube holder includes a guide portion configured to guide the aspirating tube holder relative to the reagent-container retainer such that the aspirating tube holder is allowed to reach a state where the aspirating tube has entered the reagent container or a state where the aspirating tube has retreated from the reagent container.

Initial positioning system and method for liquid measuring and removing

An initial positioning system and method for liquid measuring and taking. The system comprises a measuring passage, a variable pressure chamber, and a piston, an initial end of the measuring passage being in communication with the upper part of the variable pressure chamber; the piston reciprocates in the variable pressure chamber to cause a change between positive pressure and negative pressure in the variable pressure chamber; the initial positioning system further comprises a pressure relief port located on the wall of the variable pressure chamber and capable of communicating with the outside of the variable pressure chamber; when the piston is located at the pressure relief port, and the inside and outside of the variable pressure chamber are in communication, the maximum volume of the liquid that can be accommodated in the variable pressure chamber is not smaller than one third of the total volume of the variable pressure chamber.
