HAZARDOUS CONTAMINANT COLLECTION KIT AND RAPID TESTING
Contamination detection systems, kits, and techniques are described for testing surfaces for the presence of hazardous contaminants, while minimizing user exposure to these contaminants. Even trace amounts of contaminants can be detected. A collection kit provides a swab that is simple to use, easy to hold and grip, allows the user to swab large areas of a surface, and keeps the user's hands away from the surface being tested. The kit also provides open and closed fluid transfer mechanism to transfer the collected fluid to a detection device while minimizing user exposure to hazardous contaminants in the collected fluid. Contamination detection kits can rapidly collect and detect hazardous drugs, including trace amounts of antineoplastic agents, in healthcare settings at the site of contamination.
FLUID DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
There is disclosed a fluid distribution system for distributing fluid from a single source to a plurality of downstream receptacles. The system has a distribution manifold with a single inlet and a plurality of outlets arrayed around a circumferential outer periphery. The outlets may be directed to the different receptacles which each have their own vent filter, or each receptacle connects back to the distribution manifold for common venting.
Cryogenic vial assemblies
Vial assemblies comprise a tubular body and a cap, the cap including a first portion configured to abut a lip of an open end of the tubular body, a threaded portion configured to couple to threading on an internal surface of the tubular body, and a second portion protruding from the threaded portion and extending into a cavity of the tubular body. Methods for storing and removing frozen samples from such vial assemblies are also described.
Apparatus for heating test water
An apparatus for heating test water includes a test container for receiving the test water, and a heating container for installation of the test container. The heating container contains burnt lime that heats the test water when being mixed with water to be tested arranged in the heating container.
Sample vial for digital holographic analysis of a liquid cell sample
The current invention concerns a sample vial for receiving a liquid cell sample, to be used in conjunction with a digital holographic microscope (DHM), said sample vial comprises at least two compartments in fluid connection with one another, said compartments comprising at least one pair of screening surfaces, said screening surfaces are essentially flat; and characterized in that the distance between the pair of screening surfaces of the second compartment is smaller than the distance between the pair of screening surfaces of the first compartment. In a second and third aspect, the current invention pertains to a method and system for analyzing a liquid cell sample by DHM, employing the sample vial of the current invention.
Kit for collecting and sampling urine
A urine collecting and sample kit includes a self-standing urine collecting bag and an evacuated test tube. The collecting bag includes a female connector fitment adapted to connect to a sample end of the evacuated test tube to enable taking a urine sample from urine deposited in the bag using the evacuated test tube. The female connector fitment is sealed by means of a sealing technique to a front and/or back panel of the self-standing urine collecting bag, at a height above a bottom panel of the bag, such that the insert opening of the fitment faces outward and the sample end of the test tube can be inserted into the recess and be removed from the recess while the bag is in its standing position.
Medical specimen container
A container for storing a histological sample comprises a container housing having an open top end and a bottom end defining a container interior. The container interior is configured to hold a fluid and receive the sample. A removable lid encloses the open top end. A container insert engages the container housing so as to substantially inhibit leaking of the fluid from the container. The insert includes an aperture configured to permit a sample holder containing the sample passage therethrough so as to enable depositing of the sample within the fluid in the container.
Sample cup assembly, system and method for purging
A sample analysis cup assembly, system and method for purging including a cell body, including a top end; a bottom end; a cell body wall extending axially from the top end to the bottom end; a transverse wall adjacent the top end, including a plurality of apertures extending therethrough; and a raised portion on the transverse wall including a central aperture extending therethrough; a rotatable cap, including a top surface; a bottom surface; and a series of apertures extending from the top surface through the bottom surface, the rotatable cap being structured to engage with the top end of the cell body; and a ring member structured to couple with the bottom end of the cell body are provided.
BIOCHIP
A biochip; a liquid which has a different specific gravity from that of the reaction mixture and is immiscible with the reaction mixture; and an additive containing, as a principal component, a carbinol-modified silicone resin, a carboxyl-modified silicone resin, an amino-modified silicone resin, a polyether-modified silicone resin, a silanol-modified silicone resin, or a fluoro-modified silicone resin, wherein the vessel comprising, a flow channel that is capable of flowing a liquid droplet of a reaction mixture containing a surfactant in the longitudinal direction of the vessel.
EVACUATED BLOOD COLLECTION TUBES CONTAINING PROTEASE INHIBITORS FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF CONTACT SYSTEM ACTIVATION
Disclosed herein are evacuated blood collection tubes comprising protease inhibitor cocktails in liquid form and uses thereof for assessing features associated with the contact system in a subject, including the endogenous level of contact system activation, the endogenous level of a drug that targets a component of contact system during treatment, and/or the immunogenicity of such a drug.
