System for manipulating samples in liquid droplets
A liquid droplet manipulation system has a substrate with at least one electrode array and a central control unit for controlling selection of individual electrodes of the electrode array and for providing the electrodes with individual voltage pulses for manipulating liquid droplets by electrowetting. A working film is placed on top of the electrodes for manipulating samples in liquid droplets with the electrode array. At least one selected individual electrode of the electrode array is configured to be penetrated by light of an optical detection system for the optical inspection or analysis of samples in liquid droplets that are located on the working film. Also disclosed is working film that is to be placed on the electrode array and a cartridge that includes such a working film for manipulating samples in liquid droplets.
Magnetic separation device and method of use
The current invention relates to the method and apparatus to magnetically separate biological entities with magnetic labels from a fluid sample. The claimed magnetic separation device removes biological entities with magnetic labels from its fluidic solution by using a soft-magnetic center pole with two soft-magnetic side poles. The claimed device further includes processes to dissociate entities conglomerate after magnetic separation.
Methods and applications of on-chip dried or lyophilized chemiluminescence substrate reagents
A sensing device includes a sample loading chamber configured to receive a sample, a detection antibody drying or lyophilization chamber configured to receive a first portion of the sample, one or more substrate drying or lyophilization chambers configured to receive a second portion of the sample, and one or more reaction chambers connected to the detection antibody drying or lyophilization chamber and the one or more substrate drying or lyophilization chambers. The detection antibody drying or lyophilization chamber and one or more substrate drying or lyophilization chambers are placed in parallel between the sample loading chamber and the one or more reaction chambers.
MICROCHIP, SAMPLE SORTING KIT, AND MICROPARTICLE SORTING DEVICE
To provide a microchip that is easily handled.
Provided is a microchip having a plate shape and including: a sample liquid inlet into which a sample liquid is introduced; a main flow path through which the sample liquid introduced from the sample liquid inlet flows; and a sorting flow path into which a target sample is sorted from the sample liquid, in which the sample liquid inlet and a terminal end of the sorting flow path are formed on a same side surface. Furthermore, a sample sorting kit including the microchip is also provided. Moreover, a microparticle sorting device on which the microchip is mounted is also provided.
GENOME EXTRACTION DEVICE INCLUDING FLOW COVER
Provided is a genome extraction device including a flow cover, more particularly a genome extraction device which includes a base plate, thereby forming a closed flow path inside and preventing a problem of narrowing of the flow path according to close contact coupling between components.
GENOME EXTRACTION DEVICE OF DUAL CHAMBER STRUCTURE IN WHICH OUTER CHAMBER AND INNER CHAMBER ARE COMBINED WITH EACH OTHER
Provided is a genome extraction device to which a dual chamber structure of an outer chamber and an inner chamber is applied, more particularly a genome extraction device to which the above-described dual chamber structure is applied so that the genome extraction device can be stored stably for a long time without the risk of reagent leakage.
Pressure Manifold and Culture Module
A perfusion manifold assembly is described that allows for perfusion of a microfluidic device, such as an organ on a chip microfluidic device comprising cells that mimic cells in an organ in the body, that is detachably linked with said assembly so that fluid enters ports of the microfluidic device from a fluid reservoir, optionally without tubing, at a controllable flow rate.
A culture module is contemplated that allows the perfusion and optionally mechanical actuation of one or more microfluidic devices, such as organ-on-a-chip microfluidic devices comprising cells that mimic at least one function of an organ in the body.
Systems for Operating Microfluidic Devices
Systems for operating a microfluidic device are described. The systems comprise a first surface configured to interface and operatively couple with a microfluidic device and a lid configured to retain the microfluidic device on the first surface. The lid comprises a first portion having a first fluid port configured to operatively couple with and flow fluidic medium into and/or out of a first fluid inlet/outlet of the microfluidic device and a second portion having a second fluid port configured to operatively couple with and flow fluidic medium into and/or out of a second fluid inlet/outlet of the microfluidic device. The second portion of the lid is separable from the first portion and movable between a closed position in which the second fluid port of the second portion of the cover is operatively coupled with the second fluid inlet/outlet of the microfluidic device and an open position in which a portion of the microfluidic device that contains the second fluid inlet/outlet is exposed. Other embodiments are described.
FLUID HANDLING DEVICE
This invention addresses the problem of providing a fluid handling device that can be reliably and easily connected to various devices, can supply a desired fluid to various devices, and can receive fluid from various devices. The fluid handling device that addresses this problem comprises: a first device having a flow path for allowing a fluid to flow therethrough and an opening for connecting the flow path and the outside; and a tube having a first end that is inserted into the opening. The first device further comprises a support part that fixes the tube such that the central axis of a second end of the tube is at an angle in relation to the central axis of the first end of the tube.
Fluidic device
A fluidic device (10) is described. The fluidic device (10) comprises the first part (110) and the second part (120). The first part (110) comprises a first inlet (111) and a first outlet (112), mutually spaced apart. The second part (120) comprises a first chamber (121) arranged to contain a predetermined first amount A1 of a first fluid F1 therein and a first wall portion (122) arranged to contain, at least in part, the first fluid F1 in the first chamber (121). The fluidic device (10) is arrangeable in a first configuration, wherein the first part (110) is fluidically isolated from the first chamber (121).
