20220203366 · 2022-06-30 · ·

Fluidic devices that include bubble traps are provided. A substrate for a fluidic device includes a first channel to carry a fluid; a chamber, coupled to the first channel, to receive the fluid from the first channel, the chamber having a top and a bottom; a second channel, coupled to the chamber, to receive the fluid from the chamber; and a plurality of barriers adjacent to the top of the chamber. The plurality of barriers inhibit bubbles in the fluid from entering the second channel. Methods for manufacturing and using fluidic devices that include bubble traps are also provided.

DIAGNOSTIC CONSUMABLES INCORPORATING COATED MICRO-PROJECTION ARRAYS, AND METHODS THEREOF

Diagnostic consumables for use in the analysis of fluid samples, such as whole blood, plasma or urine, are provided. The diagnostic consumables include a substrate having a sample preparation stage that includes an inlet port for receiving a fluid sample, an outlet port for dispensing a prepared fluid sample, and a channel extending from the inlet port to the outlet port. The channel includes an array of micro-projections extending into the channel to define a plurality of flow paths therebetween along at least a portion of a length of the channel between the inlet port and the outlet port. A material is disposed on the array of micro-projections for mixing with the fluid sample as the fluid sample is flowed through the channel to generate the prepared fluid sample. Methods of operating and manufacturing the diagnostic consumables are also provided.

FLUORESCENCE DETECTOR FOR MICROFLUIDIC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM
20220203371 · 2022-06-30 ·

The present technology provides for a fluorescent detector that is configured to detect light emitted for a probe characteristic of a polynucleotide. The polynucleotide is undergoing amplification in a microfluidic channel with which the detector is in optical communication. The detector is configured to detect minute quantities of polynucleotide, such as would be contained in a microfluidic volume. The detector can also be multiplexed to permit multiple concurrent measurements on multiple polynucleotides concurrently.

Diagnostic and treatment assembly

A diagnostic and treatment assembly, configured to diagnose and treat cellular disease. The diagnostic and treatment assembly has a radio wave generator communicatively coupled to a carrier modulator and a radio wave amplifier. An impedance matching system is electrically coupled to the radio wave amplifier. A reflected wave sensor is electrically coupled to the impedance matching system. A radiator applicator is electrically coupled to the reflected wave sensor. A vector impedance analyzer is electrically coupled to the radio wave amplifier. An information collector data network is electrically coupled to the vector impedance analyzer. A data logger is communicatively coupled to the carrier modulator, the vector impedance analyzer, and the reflected wave sensor. The diagnostic and treatment assembly operates in a low-power mode to diagnose a cellular disease and in a high-power mode to treat the cellular disease.

ASSAY APPARATUSES, CONSUMABLES AND METHODS

We describe apparatuses, method, reagents, and kits for conducting assays as well as process for their preparation. They are particularly well suited for conducting automated sampling, sample preparation, and analysis in a multi-well plate assay format. For example, they may be used for automated analysis of liquid samples in a clinical point of care setting.

Planarization layers over silicon dies

A microfluidic apparatus may include, in an example, a substrate, at least one silicon die embedded into the substrate, and a planarization layer layered over, at least, a portion of the substrate that interfaces with the silicon die to prevent a fluid from contacting an edge of the silicon die.

SPECIMEN HOLDER WITH WIRELESS TRANSPONDER FOR ATTACHMENT TO SPECIMEN COLLECTION BODY
20220184625 · 2022-06-16 ·

A specimen holder includes a body, a sleeve, and a wireless transponder. The body has distal and proximal portions, the distal portion including a surface that carries a specimen upon engagement of the body with the specimen, and the proximal portion including a first pair of parallel surfaces. The sleeve has distal and proximal portions, a side wall, and an internal cavity at least partially enclosed by the side wall. The distal portion of the sleeve includes a second pair of parallel surfaces. The wireless transponder is sized to be positioned within the internal cavity of the sleeve. The sleeve is attachable to the body by capturing one of the first and second pairs of parallel surfaces between the other of the first and second pairs of parallel surfaces.

Apparatuses and methods for sample-specific self-configuration

Embodiments in accordance with the present disclosure are directed to configuring an analyzer apparatus for processing a particular sample-processing cartridge. The analyzer apparatus includes a portable container and sample-specific configuration circuitry. The portable container supports and integrates a sample-processing cartridge and the sample-specific configuration circuitry. The sample-specific configuration circuitry identifies configuration information specific to the sample-processing cartridge and configures the analyzer apparatus for a series of state configurations. The configuration can be performed by selecting which of a plurality of biological-sample stimulators to interact with the biological sample, identifying positions in the portable container for each of the selected ones of the plurality of biological-sample stimulators at different times, and while the selected ones of the plurality of biological-sample stimulators are in the identified positions, causing the interactions between the selected ones of the plurality of biological-sample stimulators and the biological sample.
