DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MEASUREMENT OF SARS-CoV-2 SPECIFIC ANTIGEN IN A BIOLOGICAL SAMPLE
A device for retaining a biological sample, for measuring a concentration of a SARS-CoV2 specific antigen, with SARS-CoV2 antigen-specific and electrochemically active immunoreceptor that is conjugated with an electrochemically active substance and optionally including an electrode reactivity enhancement agent and antibody stabilization agent. The immunoreceptor is configured to be in chemical contact with electrodes and a biological sample with SARS-CoV2 specific antigen of the device. The present invention also provides a device holder for holding the device of the present invention and a point-of-care biosensor. A method for measuring a concentration of SARS-CoV2 specific antigen from a reduced volume of biological sample is also provided in the presence of the antigen-specific and electrochemically active immunoreceptor, by measuring a peak value of redox current of the SARS-CoV2 antigen-specific and electrochemically active immunoreceptor and determining a concentration of SARS-CoV2 specific antigen in the biological sample, by linearly matching with a corresponding reference redox current.
DISPOSABLE FLUIDIC CARTRIDGE AND COMPONENTS
Disclosed are cartridge components, cartridges, systems, and methods for isolating analytes from biological samples. In various aspects, the cartridge components, cartridges, systems, and methods may allow for a rapid procedure that requires a minimal amount of material from complex fluids.
SANDWICH-TYPE ASSAYS USING DECREASING SIGNAL PORTIONS OF DOSE RESPONSE CURVE TO MEASURE ANALYTES, INCLUDING ANALYTES AT HIGH CONCENTRATION
Sandwich-type lateral flow assay devices, systems, and methods described herein measure concentration of an analyte of interest in a sample, and can determine the precise concentration of the analyte when it is present at high concentrations. A signal of maximum intensity is generated when the concentration of analyte of interest in a sample is zero. For low concentrations of analyte, the lateral flow assays described herein generate signals that are the same as or substantially equivalent to the maximum intensity signal. High concentrations of the analyte of interest generate signals that are less than the maximum intensity signal. Lateral flow assays of the present disclosure solve drawbacks associated with the hook effect of sandwich-type lateral flow assays by eliminating the phase of the dose response curve where signals are increasing.
PORTABLE SYSTEM FOR ANALYSING MICROBIAL POPULATION IN A FLUID
A system and process may be used to test water samples to measure ATP and/or estimate a microbial population, for example using an adenosine triphosphate (ATP) based assay. The system includes a device that is use in combination with single-use or disposable cartridges. The cartridge receives the water sample and is pre-loaded with one or more reagents. The device receives the cartridge and contains physical, electronic and/or mechatronic devices that interact with cartridge. One or more actions such as metering, mixing and conveying are performed automatically by elements of the device and/or cartridge. A sensor in the device measures light produced in the cartridge from a reaction with ATP in the water sample. Optionally, the cartridge also contains a pre-loaded amount of ATP, which is used to provide an internal reference or calibration measurement.
