SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RAPID MULTIPLEXED SAMPLE PROCESSING WITH APPLICATIONS FOR NUCLEIC ACID AMPLIFICATION ASSAYS
The invention(s) cover systems and methods for target detection in a multiplexed and rapid manner. Embodiments of the system can include: a base substrate; and an array of sample processing regions defined at a broad surface of the base substrate, wherein each of the array of sample processing regions includes: a set of microwell subarrays arranged in a gradient by volumetric capacity between an upstream end and a downstream end of each respective sample processing region, and a boundary separating each respective sample processing region from adjacent sample processing regions. The system can support methods, with example implementation by an automated platform, for returning preliminary results from a subset of microwells of the samples processing regions, as well as results pertaining to specific and non-specific amplification, for multiple targets of a sample.
CARTRIDGE AND LIQUID HANDLING DEVICE
A cartridge of the present invention is to be used in combination with a channel chip including a channel through which a liquid flows. The cartridge includes a reservoir for storing a liquid, in which a through hole configured to be connected to the channel is opened into a bottom part of the reservoir; a liquid discarding part for discarding the liquid in the reservoir; and a connection part which is disposed above the through hole, and connects the reservoir and the liquid discarding part to each other.
BIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS SYSTEM AND METHODS
A system for biological analysis includes a housing, a block assembly within the housing having a sample block and a baseplate, a heated cover and a cover carrier. The sample block receives a sample holder comprising an RFID tag. A first drive mechanism generates relative movement between the sample block and the baseplate along a first axis. A second drive mechanism generates relative movement between the heated cover and the cover carrier along a second axis that is different from the first axis. Based on a first command the first drive mechanism releasably engages the sample block and operates the second drive mechanism to releasably engage the heated cover with the cover carrier. The system also includes first and second RFID antennas that receive RFID data from the sample holder RFID tag that is read by at least one RFID reader.
SPECIMEN COLLECTION RECEPTACLE
A fluid specimen collection receptacle includes a cup containing a chamber and an open end and a lid for connection with the cup open end and closing the cup chamber. A closure and a specimen collection needle are connected with the lid and a reservoir is arranged beneath the lid and connected with the closure for rotation relative to the lid between open and closed positions. The closure affords access to the needle when the closure is in the open position and prevents access to the needle when the closure is in the closed position. The reservoir includes a chamber closed by a portion of the lid when the closure is in the open position. When the closure is rotated to the closed position, the reservoir is opened for communication with the cup chamber to release an absorbent material from the reservoir chamber into the cup chamber to solidify any residual fluid specimen within the cup chamber.
ALL-IN-ONE SELF TEST KIT
An all-in-one self test kit includes: a test tool having a reagent container adapted to store a diagnosis reagent therein and a diagnosis kit with a casing constituted of a first body and a second body and a diagnosis strip disposed inside the casing and having a sucking part for sucking the diagnosis reagent and a diagnosis part reacting to the diagnosis reagent sucked to the sucking part; a sub-body having a container insertion portion for inserting the reagent container thereinto and a kit insertion portion for inserting the diagnosis kit thereinto; a main body for inserting the sub-body thereinto; and a cap fastened and unfastened with an entrance of the main body to open and close the main body.
METHODS, DEVICES, AND KITS FOR PURIFYING AND LYSING BIOLOGICAL PARTICLES
Devices, kits, and their methods of use for lysing and/or purifying biological particles, e.g., nuclei are provided. One or more thixotropic layers can be employed in a vessel to purify biological particles. A device with sharp features may be employed to lyse biological particles or the contents thereof.
BIOCHEMICAL DETECTION DEVICE
A biochemical detection device is revealed. The biochemical detection device includes a cap and a base arranged at two ends of a test tube correspondingly and a driving member disposed on the base. A sample-mounting slot and a test-paper-mounting slot separated from each other are formed in the test tube. After sampling, a sample obtained is placed into the sample-mounting slot and mixed with an extraction solution therein. A thin-film on the sample-mounting slot is penetrated by the driving member to allow the extraction solution mixed with the sample flowing into a cavity of the test tube to react with a test strip in the test-paper-mounting slot. The test cost is reduced and the detection efficiency is improved due to simple structure and easy operation. Moreover, the sample and the extraction solution are sealed in the test tube to prevent environmental pollution caused by spread of viruses.
SAMPLE HOLDER UNIT FOR SINGLE-CRYSTAL X-RAY STRUCTURE ANALYSIS APPARATUS
A sample holder unit 400 capable of quickly and easily soaking a sample in a crystalline sponge, and of quickly and accurately performing single-crystal X-ray structure analysis, is provided. The sample holder unit comprises a sample holder 214 and an applicator 300. The applicator 300 comprises an opening 302 and a storing space in which the sample holder is stored; a seal part 304 provided on a contact surface with the sample holder stored in the storing space; and a pull-out prevention part 305 that prevents the sample holder from being pulled out from the opening 302, the pull-out prevention part engaged with the sample holder stored in the storing space.
Sealing Products for Individual Wells in Multi-well Arrays
A heat sealing product suitable for sealing one or more individual containers, said heat sealing product comprising: (i) a plurality of individual heat seals set out in a configuration substantially corresponding to the shape and configuration of the container(s) to be sealed, the size and shape of the individual heat seals corresponding substantially to the size and shape of the tops of the individual container(s) to be sealed; (ii) a peelable support film layer coated on one side with a low tack adhesive, the low tack adhesive serving to hold the individual heat seals in place on the support film layer in the desired configuration prior to the sealing process; (iii) alignment points in the sealing product adapted to enable the heat sealing product and therefore the individual heat seals of the heat sealing product to be aligned substantially exactly with respect to the individual containers to be sealed.
