MICROFLUIDIC SENSOR FOR THE DETECTION OF ANALYTES

A microfluidic sensor for the detection of analytes in objects includes a contact surface that may be attached to a surface of the object, an inlet hole in the contact surface for the entry of fluids emitted by the object, and a first reservoir which stores an ionic fluid in the form of a polymer matrix. The polymer matrix includes a reactive substance which changes colour when it enters into contact with the analytes of the fluids emitted by the object. It further includes at least one first microfluidic duct which connects the inlet hole to the first reservoir. A system for the detection of analytes, a method for the manufacture of the microfluidic sensor and the use of the microfluidic sensor for the detection of analytes in works of art are also related.

DEVICES AND METHOD FOR MULTI-WELL PLATE LIQUID DISTRIBUTION

Devices and methods for multi-well plate liquid distribution are provided. Devices herein provide a plurality of dispensing stations configured to receive and dispense or disburse liquid to the wells of a multi-well plate. The dispensing stations include dispensing surfaces configured to receive liquid droplets dispensed by manual or automatic pipettes. The dispensing surfaces are configured to retain received liquids until force is applied and distribution to the wells of the multi-well plate occurs. Devices and methods provided herein increase the consistency of laboratory results in procedures requiring liquid distribution.

Laminate fluidic circuit for a fluid cartridge

An apparatus includes a fluid reservoir and a laminate fluidic circuit positioned above the fluid reservoir. The laminate fluidic circuit includes two or more layers laminated together to define a substantially planar substrate and one or more channels defined within the substrate. The laminate fluidic circuit includes a flexible conduit defined by a portion of the substrate encompassing an extent of at least one of the channels that is partially separated or separable from the remainder of the substrate. The flexible conduit is deflectable with respect to the planar substrate toward the fluid reservoir such that the flexible conduit fluidly connects the at least one channel to the fluid reservoir.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SEQUESTERED WASH BUFFER REUSE

A system includes a fluidic device, a flow control valve, a first reagent fluid reservoir fluidly connectable to the fluidic device by the flow control valve, a first fluid buffer reservoir fluidly connectable to the fluidic device by the flow control valve, and a common fluid buffer source fluidly connectable to the fluidic device by the flow control valve. The flow control valve permits flow comprising: (i) flow from the first reagent fluid reservoir to the fluidic device, (ii) flow from the common fluid buffer source to the fluidic device, (iii) flow from the fluidic device to the first fluid buffer reservoir, (iv) flow from the first reagent fluid reservoir to the fluidic device, and (v) flow from the first fluid buffer reservoir to the fluidic device.

Multiwell device and method of use

Multiwell devices and methods of filtration using the multiwell devices are disclosed.

SAMPLE COLLECTION SYSTEM INCLUDING SEALING CAP AND VALVE
20230054207 · 2023-02-23 ·

A biological sample collection system includes: a sample collection vessel having a sample collection chamber for receiving a biological sample; a sealing cap including a reagent chamber for storing a sample preservation reagent and being configured to associate with the sample collection vessel; and a selectively movable valve at least partially disposed within the sealing cap. The selectively movable valve includes a post with an interior chamber and fluid vent and a valve head associated with a distal portion of the post that initially occludes the fluid vent when the valve is in the closed configuration. Associating the sealing cap with the sample collection vessel causes a physical rearrangement of the post and the valve head in order for the fluid vent to become unoccluded by the valve head, thereby placing the valve in an open configuration and allowing fluid communication between the reagent chamber and the sample collection vessel.

Toilet with infrastructure for analytical devices

An analytical toilet comprising a bowl for receiving excreta from a user; a base supporting the bowl; a supply of flush water; and a plurality of receptacles, each providing mechanical attachment, a power supply, and a data connection to an analytical device, which analytical device is adapted to provide data useful to the user is disclosed.

SAMPLE RECEIVING DEVICE

The present invention generally relates to a sample receiving device for releasably storing a substance. The sample receiving device includes a lid having a reservoir for retaining the substance, and a pierceable barrier sealing the substance within the reservoir; and b) a funnel for receiving a sample and configured for closure by the lid. The funnel is configured for releasable attachment to a sample receptacle such that a sample can be provided to the funnel and travel through the channel in the funnel into the sample receptacle. Further, the funnel includes one or more cutting ribs for cutting the pierceable barrier such that upon cutting of the pierceable barrier the substance is released from the reservoir, flows through the channel in the funnel and into the sample receptacle to be mixed with the sample. The present invention also provides a kit for collecting and storing biomolecules.
