MULTIPLEX OPTICAL STIMULUS AND READOUT
The invention provides a multi-well plate reader for providing simultaneous transmission of stimulation light to, and detection of emission light from, individual wells of a multi-well plate at a plurality of distinct wavelengths.
Flexible optical biosensor for point of use multi-pathogen detection
A fully integrated miniaturized optical biosensor and methods of making the same are disclosed. The biosensor may include a fluid transport system and an optical system.
Light detection devices with protective liner and methods related to same
Light detection devices and related methods are provided. The devices may comprise a reaction structure for containing a reaction solution with a relatively high or low pH and a plurality of reaction sites that generate light emissions. The devices may comprise a device base comprising a plurality of light sensors, device circuitry coupled to the light sensors, and a plurality of light guides that block excitation light but permit the light emissions to pass to a light sensor. The device base may also include a shield layer extending about each light guide between each light guide and the device circuitry, and a protection layer that is chemically inert with respect to the reaction solution extending about each light guide between each light guide and the shield layer. The protection layer prevents reaction solution that passes through the reaction structure and the light guide from interacting with the device circuitry.
Compact device for detection of nanoscale analytes
Disclosed are cartridge components, cartridges, systems, and methods for isolating analytes from biological samples. In various aspects, the cartridge components, cartridges, systems, and methods may allow for a rapid procedure that requires a minimal amount of material from complex fluids.
Micro total analysis system and method
A micro-total analysis system and a method thereof are provided. The micro-total analysis system includes: a microfluidic device, configured to accommodate a liquid to be detected; an optical unit, configured to form a first light irradiated to the microfluidic device; and a detection unit, configured to detect the liquid to be detected and output a detection signal to obtain detection information.
3D MICROELECTRODE ARRAY (MEA) FOR OPTICAL AND ELECTRICAL PROBING OF ELECTROGENIC CELLS
Disclosed herein are novel 3D microelectrode arrays (3D MEA) that include a substrate body (e.g. chip), microneedles, traces, and a well, wherein the 3D MEA provides for transfer of electrical signals on one side of the substrate body to the other side of the substrate body. Methods for using 3D MEAs to grow electrogenic cells and obtain electrophysiological signals are disclosed as well. Fabrication techniques for producing the 3D MEAs are also disclosed.
SEQUENCING SYSTEMS AND METHODS UTILIZING CURVED IMAGING PATHS ON ROTATING SUBSTRATES
A nucleic acid sequencing system may include a substrate coupled to a rotating disk. The substrate may include a plurality of nucleic acid samples. A detection system, including for example an objective and a camera, may detect sequencing events on the substrate while the substrate is rotated relative to the detection system around a rotational axis of the substrate, perpendicular to a surface of the substrate, by the actuation system.
Bead incubation and washing on a droplet actuator
Methods are provided for separating magnetically responsive beads from a droplet in a droplet actuator. Droplet operations electrodes and a magnet are arranged in a droplet actuator to manipulate a bead-containing droplet and position it relative to a magnetic field region that attracts the magnetically responsive beads. The droplet operations electrodes are operated to control the droplet shape and transport it away from the magnetic field region to form a concentration of beads in the droplet. The continued transport of the droplet away from the magnetic field causes the concentration of beads to break away from the droplet to yield a small, concentrated bead-containing droplet immobilized by the magnet.
Assay for vapor condensates
The present invention relates to provide, among other things, the methods, devices, and systems that can simply and quickly collecting and analyzing a tiny amount of vapor condensates (e.g. exhaled breath condensate (EBC)).
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MULTI-JUNCTION PARTICLE SORTING IN INJECTION-MOLDED ARTICLES
The present disclosure is related to a method of producing a microfluidic sorting apparatus. The method includes providing an injection-molded substrate comprising a network of channels; bonding an insulating film to an upper surface of the substrate to cover the network of channels; and depositing a conductive film on the insulating film. The substrate can be separated from the conductive film.
