Device for the study of living cells
A device for performing a cell study. The device comprises a plate having a plurality of wells, each configured for containing aqueous solution and having a well bottom with a plurality of picowells and a plurality of biosensors each configured for measuring at least one cell characteristic while being in contact with the aqueous solution in a respective the well. The position of each the biosensor in a respective the well is limited by at least one pin.
SCREENING ASSAYS AND METHODS
Screening assays and methods of performing such assays are provided. In certain examples, the assays and methods may be designed to determine whether or not two or more species can associate with each other. In some examples, the assays and methods may be used to determine if a known antigen binds to an unknown monoclonal antibody.

SUBSTRATES HAVING MODIFIED SURFACE REACTIVITY AND ANTIFOULING PROPERTIES IN BIOLOGICAL REACTIONS
Methods of preparing surfaces of sample wells are provided. In some aspects, methods of preparing a sample well surface involve contacting the sample well with a block copolymer to form an antifouling overlay over a metal oxide surface of the sample well. In some aspects, methods of passivating and/or selectively functionalizing a sample well surface are provided.
SYSTEMS FOR IMPROVING THE DYNAMIC RANGE OF BIOLOGICAL ASSAYS
Systems are provided that provide an extended measuring range for biological assays, such as immunoassays. In one embodiment a plurality of discrete test sites is used. Data for the proportion of test sites that indicate the presence of the analyte of interest and data that provides a statistical value for a signal generated by the population of discrete test sites is gathered. The results of these digital and statistical approaches are aggregated to provide an extended dynamic range.
MICROFLUIDIC CONTROL CHIP, MICROFLUIDIC APPARATUS, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
The disclosure relates to a microfluidic control chip. The microfluidic control chip may include an upper cover, a lower cover, and a chip functional layer between the upper cover and the lower cover. The chip functional layer may include a first region. The chip functional layer in the first region may include at least one chamber unit, an inlet flow channel to the chamber unit, and an outlet flow channel from the chamber unit. The chamber unit may include a main flow channel, a plurality of secondary flow channels, and a plurality of microcavity structures. The chamber unit may be configured to allow a liquid to flow from the main flow channel to the plurality of secondary flow channels, and then to the plurality of microcavity structures.
MICROFLUIDIC METHOD FOR ANALYZING METALS
The present invention relates to a microfluidic method for analyzing a fluid containing a metal trace element, in particular arsenic, comprising the following steps of introducing a fluid sample into at least one micro-channel of a microfluidic circuit; mixing, within the micro-channel of the microfluidic circuit, the introduced fluid sample with nitric acid and L-cysteine, and measuring the quantity of metal trace element present in the sample, using an electrochemical detection method.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CELL COUNT MEASUREMENTS
The invention provides novel sample chambers, units and multi-well plates, and systems and methods thereof, for built-in measurement assurance of cell counting methods and calibrated and/or quality-assured measurement and analysis of diverse types of biological cells, e.g., cell count, cell size, cell concentration, cell sub-population, cell morphology, cell viability, etc.
Method for producing a plurality of measurement regions on a chip, and chip with measurement regions
A a chip and a method for producing the chip with a plurality of measurement regions which are provided with electrodes for electrically detecting reactions in which, in order to reliably separate the individual measurement regions from one another, a monolayer of a fluorosilane is formed on the chip surface which has strongly hydrophobic properties. Therefore, during spotting with a liquid, the drops of liquid applied by spotting can be reliably prevented from coalescing, and thus, causing mixing of the substances in the drops of liquid which are supposed to be immobilized in the measurement regions.
Flow Control System for a Microfluidic Device, Microreactor System, DNA Synthesis Device, and Method for Controlling a Sequence of Reactions
A flow control system for a microfluidic device includes: a plurality of fluid flow controllers, each fluid flow controller associated with a respective microfluidic device inlet of the microfluidic device, and wherein each fluid flow controller includes: a controller inlet for receiving a fluid flow, a first fluid channel and a second fluid channel, each of the first and the second fluid channels having a first end connected to the controller inlet and a second end connected to a supply channel, and a valve for selecting the fluid flow to be passed from the controller inlet to the first fluid channel or to the second fluid channel, wherein the first fluid channel has a first flow resistance that smaller than a second flow resistance of the second fluid channel.
