A fluid handling device includes: a channel chip including a well for containing a fluid, a channel connected to the well, a valve disposed on the channel, and a through hole; and a pressing member including a first protrusion and a second protrusion, the first protrusion being for pressing the valve to close the valve, the second protrusion being inserted into the through hole and being for positioning the first protrusion with respect to the valve, the pressing member being rotatable about a rotational axis extending through the second protrusion.
Liquid handling device and liquid handling method
A liquid handling device includes a plurality of first wells configured for a first sample; a first channel connected to the plurality of first wells; a plurality of second wells configured for a second sample; a second channel connected to the plurality of second wells; a plurality of processing agent wells configured for a processing agent configured to process the first sample and the second sample; a processing agent channel connected to the plurality of processing agent wells; and a common channel connected to the first channel, the second channel and the processing agent channel.
Sealer-less plasma bottle and top for same
A top for a plasma storage container includes a top body that defines the structure of the top and seals an opening of the plasma storage container. The top also includes a first opening and a vent opening extending through the top body. A valve mechanism is located at least partially within the top body and includes an aperture therethrough. The aperture opens upon connection of a blunt cannula to provide access to the interior of the plasma storage container. The top also includes a vent filter. The vent filter allows air to vent through the vent opening during plasma collection.
Microfluidic network device
Microfluidic network device (2) configured to supply reagents to a biological tissue sampling device (1), comprising a plurality of microfluidic inlet channels (12) connected to respective sources of said reagents, at least one common outlet channel (22), and a plurality of valves (36) interconnecting an outlet end (14) of each of said plurality of inlet channels to said at least one common outlet channel.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR BIOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS INCLUDING A BASE INSTRUMENT AND A REMOVABLE CARTRIDGE
Systems and methods for conducting designated reactions utilizing a base instrument and a removable cartridge. The removable cartridge includes a fluidic network that receives and fluidically directs a biological sample to conduct the designated reactions. The removable cartridge also includes a flow-control valve that is operably coupled to the fluidic network and is movable relative to the fluidic network to control flow of the biological sample therethrough. The removable cartridge is configured to separably engage a base instrument. The base instrument includes a valve actuator that engages the flow-control valve of the removable cartridge. A detection assembly held by at least one of the removable cartridge or the base instrument may be used to detect the designated reactions.
MICROMACHINED ELECTROACTIVE MEMBRANES WITH EMBEDDED MICROFLUIDIC CHANNELS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
Devices we freely supported electroactive membranes and embedded microfluidic channels are disclosed herein. Methods of fabricating such devices utilize multilayer polymer micromachining to form integrated membrane and microfluidic structures.
SYSTEMS AND RELATED TEMPERATURE CALIBRATION METHODS
Systems and related temperature calibration methods. In accordance with a first implementation, an apparatus includes a flow cell interface, a temperature control device, an infrared sensor, and a controller. The flow cell interface includes a flow cell support and the temperature control device is for the flow cell support. The controller is to command the temperature control device to cause the flow cell support to achieve a temperature value, cause the infrared sensor to measure an actual temperature value of the flow cell support, and calibrate the temperature control device based on a difference between the commanded temperature value and the actual temperature value.
Sample preparation, processing and analysis systems
This disclosure provides an integrated and automated sample-to-answer system that, starting from a sample comprising biological material, generates a genetic profile in less than two hours. In certain embodiments, the biological material is DNA and the genetic profile involves determining alleles at one or a plurality of loci (e.g., genetic loci) of a subject, for example, an STR (short tandem repeat) profile, for example as used in the CODIS system. The system can perform several operations, including (a) extraction and isolation of nucleic acid; (b) amplification of nucleotide sequences at selected loci (e.g., genetic loci); and (c) detection and analysis of amplification product. These operations can be carried out in a system that comprises several integrated modules, including an analyte preparation module; a detection and analysis module and a control module.
DEVICE FOR TESTING OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL SAMPLE
Detection devices, systems, and methods for detecting an analyte in a fluid sample are provided. The detection devices, systems, and methods can include colorimetric detection to rapidly determine the presence and/or quantity of the analyte obtained from a surface that is contaminated or suspected of being contaminated with the analyte. In one aspect, the detection device includes a sample reservoir in fluid communication with a fluid flow path. The fluid flow path includes a control well downstream of the sample reservoir, a valve assembly downstream of the control well, a reagent well downstream of the valve assembly, and a test well downstream of the reagent well. In one aspect, the reagent well includes a dried reducing agent configured to generate a gas in the presence of a detection dye and the analyte in the fluid sample.
