Method and apparatus for HDD and electronic waste disposal

A method and apparatus for use in destroying a data storage device and separating materials for recycling. The apparatus employs: a first stage of rough cutting wherein the data storage device is shredded into pieces approximately 30 mm×30 mm; a second stage that separates shredded metal material, such as spindles, from non-metal material by use of a magnetized roller having a scraper to the metal material to a first bin and non-metal material to a third stage having an upper level shredder and a lower level shredder for grinding the non-metal material into particle sizes of 10 mm×10 mm or less.

RECOVERY OF CONTAMINANT FREE BATTERY MATERIALS

A method for producing clean black mass, anode or cathode for subsequent recycling is provided, the method comprising subjecting an intact battery to a shredding process to produce an aggregate, wherein the smallest particle generated is between 2.5 percent and 40 percent of original battery size. Also provided is a shredder for minimizing aggregation of whole batteries, the shredder comprising a shaft defining a longitudinal axis and a latitudinal axis; and a plurality of teeth disposed on said knives which fit on said shaft at an angle to the latitudinal axis selected from 15 degrees and 45 degrees, wherein the teeth have a first proximal end integrally molded to the shaft and a second free distal end.

Methods and apparatus for shredding cooling tower debris are provided herein. In some embodiments, a method of preparing debris for disposal includes: receiving debris from a cooling tower; processing the received debris through a low RPM shredder to reduce the size of the debris; depositing the reduced size debris onto a conveyor; and moving the debris along the conveyor and depositing the debris into a receptacle.

Waste Management System
20220266961 · 2022-08-25 ·

A waste management system for plastic or other material floating on the surface and in the subsurface of a body of water. A shredding device will reduce the size of the particles of waste. Ocean water is removed by a drying device. The dried waste material is frozen to a temperature at or below minus fifty degrees Fahrenheit, using liquid nitrogen or other suitable means. The frozen waste material is then pulverized and ground into a powder. The powder may then be sprayed into a gas-filled chamber and heated. Temperature, pressure and humidity are maintained within the chamber for more than one minute. Microwave or other radiation and catalysts may be used to enhance the process of extraction. The processed material is then removed from the chamber. Carbon may be recycled or used as fuel by the ship. Water may be used by the ship or returned to the ocean.

Granulator mill

Granulator mill granule chamber including at least one non-rotatable blade, rotatable rotor arranged inside the granule chamber, the rotor a number of blades which are arranged for cooperation with the non-rotatable blade, a infeed hopper for feeding waste into the granule chamber, a grid arranged in the granule chamber, where through granulated waste is allowed to pass to an outfeed hopper. A scraping device is provided in a space located axially in between a housing and the rotatable rotor and the scraping device is attached to the housing.

A waste management system, primarily intended to be for waste floating in water, though it can also be used on land. A shredding device will reduce the size of the particles of waste. Ocean water is removed by a drying device. The dried waste material is cryogenically frozen using liquid nitrogen or other suitable means. Carbon and water may be recycled. The carbon may be used as fuel by the ship. Water may also be used by the ship or returned to the ocean in a non-toxic condition.

Shredder lubrication system

A shredder cassette of a shredder lubrication is disclosed. The shredder cassette includes a cassette housing and at least two shredding shafts arranged in parallel and rotatably mounted in the cassette housing. A first set of fingers are arranged between the cassette housing and a first shredding shaft, and a second set of fingers are arranged between the cassette housing and a second shredding shaft. At least one of the first set of fingers and the second set of fingers includes finger lubricating channels for lubricating the at least two shredding shafts.

Screen diverter and dual comminutor with continual operation
11266994 · 2022-03-08 · ·

A system for comminuting solid waste material including a casing defining a comminution chamber having two side walls and adapted for connection in a solid waste disposal channel. The system includes a first shredding device and a second shredding device disposed along a line extending perpendicular to a flow direction in the channel to form a pair of interactive shredding members. A rotating screening drum disposed within the casing upstream of the first and second shredding devices and positioned between the first and second shredding devices, the rotating screening drum configured to permit fluid to pass therethrough and to move solids toward one of the shredding devices. The rotating screening drum is configured to rotate clockwise and counter clockwise to alternately distribute solids captured thereon to one of the first and second shredding devices.

Crusher for rubble
