Disc chipper for crushing lumpy feed material, particularly wood
A disc chipper for crushing lumpy feed material. The disc chipper has a crushing rotor driven by a drive unit, rotating about an axle, including a rotor shaft and a chipping disc connected in a rotationally fixed manner with the rotor shaft. The chipping disc has chipping knives, which are transversely aligned in the disc plane to the rotational direction and which cooperate with stationary counter knives for the comminution of the feed material. In order to ensure a secure and accurate fastening of the chipping disc on the rotor shaft and to thereby conduct the driving force from the rotor shaft to the chipping disc without damage, the rotor shaft in the region of the bearing seat for the chipping disc has a polygonal cross section and the chipping disc has a centric through-hole form-locking thereto.
Efficiently sanitizing a solid state drive (SSD)
A low-cost, portable, destructive sanitization method for solid state drives (SSDs) is provided. Preferably, an SSD is destroyed by disintegration within a given time period (approximately 30 minutes or less) using a blending device operating at a given peak power, e.g., greater than 450 W. A pulverizing agent may be admixed with pieces of an SSD printed circuit board prior to initiating the disintegration process to increase the number of particle collisions in a processing/blending chamber. The pulverizing agent may also contain moisture that mitigates suspension of processed SDD particles in the surrounding air (when the mixing chamber is opened). The overall process may be video-recorded for compliance purposes.
Viscous food product grinding and dispensing system
A viscous food product dispensing system having a transport section for receiving a particulate food product from a bin, an auger for processing and conveying the received particulate food product from the transport section into an outlet adapter via one or more flutes, a milling device housed in the outlet adapter, and a discharge nozzle in the outlet adapter that pinches off the viscous food product created by the milling device. The auger has a unique design that allows it to engage and break whole nuts.
The chipper disc includes chipping knives, which are transversely aligned in the disc plane to the rotational direction and which cooperate with stationary counter knives for the comminution of the feed material. The drive unit include a primary drive and a secondary drive, which drive the crushing rotor via a transmission, wherein the primary drive is in active operative connection with the crushing rotor during the crushing operation, and the secondary drive during the acceleration process or when readjusting the crushing rotor for purposes of maintenance and repair.
Flywheel and paddle assembly for a chipping or shredding apparatus, and an apparatus incorporating same
A flywheel and paddle assembly for a chipping or shredding apparatus, including a wood chipper, a brush chipper, and a leaf shredder. The assembly has a flywheel attached coaxially to a drive shaft. The flywheel has at least one aperture extending from the front side to the back side, and carries at least one knife adjacent to the at least one aperture. The knife presents a knife edge on the front side of the flywheel. A paddle is rotatably mounted coaxially to the drive shaft adjacent to the back side of the flywheel. The paddle is configured to rotate on the drive shaft independently of the flywheel. A chipping or shredding apparatus incorporating the aforesaid flywheel and paddle assembly is also disclosed.
Waste Processing Machine Safety Device
A waste processing machine for reducing waste material and having a safety device for shearing lines. A housing defines a cutting chamber and an intake opening in communication with the cutting chamber for receiving waste material. A disc is disposed in the cutting chamber, rotates about an axis, and has an axial surface facing the intake opening. A cutting member is fixed to the disc for revolution about the axis concurrent with rotation of the disc for reducing waste material. A cutting anvil is coupled to the housing adjacent to the intake opening and faces the axial surface of the disc for reducing waste material between the cutting anvil and the cutting member. A line shear element is attached to the housing, extends into the cutting chamber toward the axial surface of the disc, and is spaced from the cutting anvil for shearing lines caught by the rotating disc.
TRUCK MOUNTED CARGO BOX, KIT, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR INSTALLING LOOSEFILL BLOWN INSULATION
A truck-mounted cargo box houses a commercial-grade system for blowing loosefill insulation material in bags through a hose, without first removing insulation from the bags. The cargo box and system include bag feeding means, and a chute having an inlet end positioned in an end wall of the cargo box mounted on the truck. Also included is a material processing unit in the form of a wood-chipper style or other industrial and/or commercial grade shredder, for together shredding the bags and the insulation material, without first removing the insulation material from the bags, and conditioning them both, as a composite material, to be fed into a fluid stream through the hose. There is also disclosed a kit for retrofitting a cargo box, and a related method.
Wood chipper in-feed system with water spray nozzle
A wood chipper which includes a chamber having a flywheel and which includes a wood in-feed system. The in-feed system includes a bin inclined for gravity-feeding wood product to the chamber and a cylindrical anvil disposed between an outlet of the bin and the flywheel. The flywheel includes a plurality of plates laminated together with fasteners. First and second ones of the plates have aligned first and second openings respectively for passage of chips. The second opening has a tab which extends from an edge thereof partially into the first opening. A knife is attached to the tab and supports a blade outwardly of the first plate and thus outwardly of the flywheel. A system is provided for providing water mist onto wood product only as it is being fed down the in-feed bin.
Flywheel for a wood chipper and process for making thereof
A wood chipper, a flywheel therefor, and a process of making the flywheel. A plurality of plates are laser cut to each have a thickness up to about inch, including laser cutting a plurality of apertures in each of the plates and laser cutting a central opening in each of the plates for receiving a shaft for effecting rotation of the flywheel. The plurality of plates are laminated together by inserting fasteners in corresponding ones of the apertures in the plates. At least one knife is attached to the laminated plates for cutting wood material to form chips of the wood material as the flywheel is rotated.
