Device for shredding material, in particular medical waste material
10695771 · 2020-06-30 · ·

A device for shredding material has a shredding rotor, which revolves about an axis of rotation and supports at least one blade, and a first counter-blade which cooperates with the blade of the shredding rotor. A feed plate is provided here, which is mounted to be rotatable about a pivot axis and which is connected to an actuator, in particular to an electric motor, so that, with the aid of the actuator, the feed plate can be brought into a feed position, in which the material to be shredded can lie on a first main surface of the feed plate and can slide along this in the direction of the shredding rotor, and into a first pressing position in which the material to be shredded is likewise pressed with the first main surface of the feed plate against the shredding rotor and shredded between the blade and the first counter-blade.

MATERIAL REDUCING APPARATUS HAVING A SYSTEM FOR ALLOWING A REDUCING ROTOR TO BE SELECTIVELY CONFIGURED IN MULTIPLE DIFFERENT REDUCING CONFIGURATIONS
20200197947 · 2020-06-25 ·

The present disclosure relates to a system for a material reducing machine that allows a reducing rotor to be selectively configurable in a plurality of different reducing configurations. The different reducing configurations in which the reducing rotor can be configured can include reducing configurations having reducers located at different positions, reducing configurations having different reducer densities (e.g., different overall densities and different regionalized densities), reducer configurations having different reducer counts, reducer configurations having different reducer patterns, and reducer configurations having different lay-outs.

This disclosure includes systems and methods that may be used in forest residue processing. Some systems use or include: a filter configured to filter elements based on element size, a separator configured to separate elements based on element areal density, a separator configured to separate elements based on element density, and/or a sorter configured to sort elements based on element wood fiber content.

Cutting tooth splitter apparatus and method
10646880 · 2020-05-12 ·

A splitter is provided for mounting on the leading face of a cutting assembly to be mounted on a brush cutter. In one embodiment, the splitter is preferably mounted below the cutting portion of the tooth such that as wood is cut, the cut wood is directed onto the splitter for further cutting. The tooth is mounted to cut tangentially with respect to the rotation of the cutter, while the splitter cuts radially and outwardly with respect to the rotation of the cutter. In this manner, a cutting mechanism is provided that is capable of cutting tangentially and radially simultaneously. The flow of cut wood is directed out of from the cutting assembly, thus facilitating the removal of the cutting debris away from the tooth holder and the cutting tooth, thereby cleaning the tooth of any debris and preventing wood and other debris from getting lodged within the cutting assembly.
