The shredder has a shredding chamber (2) provided with rotatable cutting devices (3), wherein the shredder (1) furthermore includes a fan chamber (6) containing a fan (7) which is connected to the shredding chamber (2) via a passage (4), wherein the fan (7) is configured to generate a suction force which will suck the shreds out of the shredding chamber via the passage and will remove these from the fan chamber (6) via a discharge opening (8). In contrast to the known shredders, this shredder (1) no longer has a discharge opening in the shredding chamber and, in addition, no longer requires a calibration grille.

Paper shredder cutting assembly

A paper shredder cutting assembly having an arbor, spaced-apart cutting blades on the arbor, a rigid frame set apart from and parallel to the arbor, and braces coupling the arbor to the frame. Each resilient brace is a spacer between a pair of spaced-apart cutting blades. The braces support arbor and cutting blades. The rigid frame and the braces cooperate to strengthen, and to reduce translational motion of the arbor, while allowing rotation of the arbor. Each brace has a brace body, a brace tang extending therefrom, and a brace tab extending perpendicularly from the brace tang. Each brace tab is aligned with another along an edge of the rigid frame, the brace bodies are spacers between the cutting blades, and the brace tabs impair translational motion of the brace bodies. A paper shredder with a motor, gearing, and counterposing cutting assemblies has motion-limited resilient spacers adjacent to cutting blades.

Infectious waste treatment system
10207302 · 2019-02-19 ·

A method and apparatus for infectious waste treatment. First, the infectious waste may be shredded into a mixture of liquid and shredded solid waste, then the mixture may be poured into a plurality of perforated bags. The liquid waste drips from the perforated bags onto a preheating subsystem and the solid waste remains in the perforated bags. The preheating subsystem heats up the liquid waste to a pre-disinfection temperature. Finally, steam may be utilized to heat up the liquid waste and the solid waste to a disinfecting temperature.
