An under-sink disposal unit includes a motor, a disposal chamber, and a passageway that extends from an opening in a top of the disposal unit to a grinding area of the disposal chamber. The disposal unit further includes a coil assembly comprising an arrangement of coils. The arrangement of coils is used to detect the passing of a metallic object in the passageway toward the grinding area of the disposal unit. The arrangement of coils comprises four pairs of coils, wherein each pair of coils comprises a transmit coil and a receive coil. The four pair of coils are arranged around an axis of the passageway and are offset relative thereto. Transmit coils located along a common axis are wound in the same direction such that the magnetic fields generated thereby augment the filed for detecting metallic objects passing toward the grinding area.

SAFETY SHREDDER WITH MECHANICAL BIN-FULL DEVICE
20180311677 · 2018-11-01 ·

A mechanical bin-full device for a paper shredder with a bin, having a curved, perforated T-blade sensor on a cylindrical body partially covered with a metal sheet. The T-blade is pendent into the bin. Metal contacts are placed on the paper shredder near the metal sheet, forming a switch, which is coupled to a motor control circuit for the shredder motor. The T-blade is pushed by paper shreddant and rotates the cylinder body as paper shreddant fills the bin. When the bin becomes full, the T-blade is positioned so that the metal contacts touch the metal sheet, closing the control circuit switch, and causing the motor to cease operating. The control circuit can include a microcontroller coupled to the motor, or a transistor-based driver coupled to a motor relay.

MEDICAL WASTE TREATMENT MACHINE WITH ANTI-CLOGGING FUNCTION

A medical waste treatment machine with anti-clogging function includes a treatment barrel, a discharge port set at the bottom of the treatment barrel, and a discharge mechanism set at the discharge port. The discharge mechanism includes a discharge bin fixedly connected in the discharge port, provided with an auxiliary member at an end connected to the treatment barrel; the auxiliary member includes a flip shaft fixedly provided with an auxiliary plate extending into the treatment barrel, the flip shaft is connected to the inner wall of the discharge bin with torsion springs, when the device is not in use, the auxiliary plate being tilted downward from outside to inside along the radial direction of the treatment barrel by the action of the torsion springs. The treatment barrel is provided with an abutting assembly at the bottom of the treatment barrel, being capable of intermittently abutting with the auxiliary plate.

Milling system

A milling system to comminute a material may generally include a hopper feeder system, a cutting mill, a collection system, each in fluid communication to provide a flow path, and a control system. The control system may include a controller operatively connected to at least one sensor to sense the amount of material, if any, along the flow path, and the speed, if any, of the material along the flow path. The control system, in response to signals received from the at least one sensor, may cause at least one of the hopper feeder, cutting mill, and collection system to increase the speed, decrease the speed, or stop the flow of material along at least a portion of the flow path. Methods of making and using the same are also described.

Solid state drive disintegrator

A device to reduce solid state drives (SSD) and the like digital media storage devices into particles less than 2 mm maximum edge length. The device is particularly adapted to disintegrating 1.8 and 2.5 solid state drives at a rate of about 360 HDD/hr or 720 SSD/hr with a throughput of about 10 seconds. A blade assembly is designed to provide multiple cutting angles while rotating at 520 rpm to maintain a low decibel rating.

Embodiments are disclosed of an apparatus with a first planar cutter including a center and a plurality of through-holes and a second planar cutter positioned on the first planar cutter and including a center and a plurality of through-holes. An axle passes through the center of the first planar cutter and is coupled to the center of the second planar cutter, so that rotation of the axle produces rotation of the second planar cutter relative to the first planar cutter. At least the surface of one of the first planar cutter and the second planar cutter is made of a friction-reducing material.

Work machine with belt tensioning system and method

A work machine having a belt tensioning system is described. A belt is engaged with an engine drive sheave and a driven sheave of a rotor having a plurality of cutting tools configured for reducing wood infeed material. An idler pulley is mounted to an idler arm that is hinged to the machine frame. An actuator is hinged to the idler arm and the frame. The actuator may be extended and retracted in order to press the idler pulley into stronger and weaker engagement with the belt in order to set the desired amount of tension in the belt. One or more sensors may be used to sense the amount of tension in the belt, and the one or more sensors may be in communication with a control system that controls the actuator to monitor and adjust the belt tension so that it is maintained within desired limits.

Crusher
