Dust Mitigation System Utilizing Conductive Fibers
A Dust Mitigation System (“DMS”) is disclosed that includes a fabric-material having a front-surface and a back-surface; a plurality of conductive-fibers within the fabric-material; and a plurality of input-nodes approximately adjacent to the back-surface or the front-surface of the fabric-material. The plurality of conductive-fibers are approximately parallel in a first direction along the fabric-material and are approximately adjacent to the front-surface of the fabric-material and the plurality of input-nodes are in signal communication with the plurality of conductive-fibers and configured to receive an alternating-current (“AC”) voltage-signal from an input-signal-source. The plurality of conductive-fibers are configured to generate an electric-field on the front-surface of the fabric-material in response to the plurality of input-nodes receiving the AC voltage-signal from the input-signal-source and a traveling-wave (from the electric-field) that travels along the front-surface of the fabric-material in a second direction that is transverse to the first direction.

The fine dust collecting filter device includes an electrostatic energy harvesting element for collecting and generating current; a charging filter connected to the electrostatic energy harvesting element such that the charging filter is electrically charged to have a first polarity and thus electrically charges fine dust particles; a collecting filter connected to the electrostatic energy harvesting element such that the collecting filter is electrically charged to have a second polarity opposite to the first polarity; and a rectifier disposed between and connected to the electrostatic energy harvesting element, and the charging filter and the collecting filter.

Disclosed is an electrostatic induction-type air filtration dust-collecting apparatus and method, whereby a film-type electrostatic filter having high efficiency and a low pressure loss is used as a primary filter so as to enhance air permeability to reduce the pressure loss and to enhance a dust-removing performance of the filter and the primary filter is utilized as an electrostatic inductor so that the performance of a secondary nonwoven fabric filter charged with static electricity can be enhanced and the enhanced performance can be maintained and thus the efficiency of collecting dust including ultrafine particles in air can be increased.

The conductive plates are disposed so as to surround the conductive microfibers to form an electrification space in which an electric field is generated. At this time, the electrification space is a rectangular columnar shaped space.
