CYCLONE ASSEMBLY FOR SURFACE CLEANING APPARATUS AND A SURFACE CLEANING APPARATUS HAVING SAME
A cyclone assembly for a surface cleaning apparatus has a first cyclonic cleaning stage and a second cyclonic cleaning stage downstream from the first cyclonic cleaning stage. The first cyclonic cleaning stage has a first cyclonic stage air outlet and the second cyclonic cleaning stage has a plurality of second cyclonic stage cyclone air inlets and a second cyclonic stage air inlet end. The first cyclonic cleaning stage air outlet communicates directly with an annular flow region that extends around the second stage air inlet end of the second cyclonic stage.
Separator device
A separator device is provided for removing particles from suspension in a fluid comprises a housing having first and second ports for ingress and egress of fluid into and out of the housing, the first and second ports being on the same vertical line; and at least one separation chamber for separating solid particles from the fluid.
SURFACE CLEANING APPARATUS
A surface cleaning apparatus having an upright section moveable relative to a surface cleaning head between a storage position and a rearwardly reclined floor cleaning position. The upright section comprising a removable hand vacuum cleaner. The hand vacuum cleaner is operable in a first mode of operation in which the surface cleaning apparatus is operated to clean a floor, the inlet of the hand vacuum cleaner is in flow communication with the surface cleaning head air outlet and the air treatment member of the hand vacuum cleaner is operable to treat air drawn in through the dirty air inlet of the surface cleaning head. The hand vacuum cleaner is also operable in a second mode of operation in which the hand vacuum cleaner is operable to directly clean a floor or the air inlet of the hand vacuum cleaner is directly connected to the downstream end of an accessory tool.

Filter and Cyclone Filter System
The invention relates to a filter (28) for removing particulate matter from a gaseous fluid (12) having a filter element (30) with a filter media (32) which is arranged in a ring-shaped fashion around the longitudinal axis (34) thereof and a pre-separator sleeve (40) which seats on the filter element (30) and which has several perforations (52). On an outside surface (42) of the pre-separator sleeve (40), there is arranged at least one guide vane (44) which extends radially outwards from the pre-separator sleeve (40). The guide vane (44) is wound around the pre-separator sleeve (40) in a helical fashion to thereby further increase the separating efficiency of the pre-separator sleeve (40). The invention further relates to a cyclone filter system with an aforesaid filter (28).
