Spray nozzle and method
A spray nozzle, which in some embodiments has a body and a deflector, the body having a fluid passageway and an outer wall including a plurality of fluid-flow orifices therethrough in fluid communication with the fluid passageway and spaced at least partly circumferentially around the outer wall, where the deflector is disposed at least partly circumferentially about and radially outwardly of the body in fluid communication with the plurality of fluid-flow orifices, and the body includes slots and fingers spaced at least partly circumferentially about the deflector. Some embodiments include a second deflector. In some embodiments, each finger and slot has a configuration that defines, at least in part, a flow trajectory, and the flow trajectory defined, at least in part, by one finger or slot is different from the flow trajectory defined by another finger or slot.
CONCEALED WINDOW SPRINKLER FRAME ARMS AND BODY ORIENTATION
A fire exposure protection sprinkler assembly provides fire exposure protection for one or more windows and includes a fire exposure protection sprinkler, a sealing assembly configured to unseal in response to a fire such that fire exposure protection fluid may flow from the fire exposure protection sprinkler, and a housing having a pair of legs, with each of the legs having an aperture. The assembly also includes a deflection assembly configured to extend from the housing due to gravity and activation of a cover plate, with a deflector configured to disperse the fire exposure protection fluid over the one or more windows so as to wet the one or more windows.
STACKABLE SPRINKLER RISER EXTENSION KIT
A sprinkler riser extension kit elevates a pop-up sprinkler that has a riser and a head detachable from the riser. The kit includes a gripping head having a channel extending therethrough, and a riser extension configured to slide within the channel and having a length corresponding to the length of the channel. The lower end of the gripping head is configured for attachment to the sprinkler, e.g., by a plurality of flexible pawls spaced evenly about the lower end, or alternatively to an upper portion of an identical gripping head. The riser extension includes means for attachment between the sprinkler head and the sprinkler riser. To elevate the sprinkler, the head is detached, the riser passed through the gripping head, the riser extension attached to the riser, the head attached to the riser extension, and the gripping head attached to the top of the sprinkler. Gripping heads and riser extensions are stackable atop one another, to enable elevation of the sprinkler head in multiple stages.
Concealed horizontal sidewall sprinkler
A concealed sprinkler includes a sprinkler body having a flow passage therethrough with an inlet end and an outlet end. A closure device is secured at the outlet end of the flow passage by a heat responsive trigger. A deflector assembly includes a deflector plate and a button secured to an upstream side of the deflector plate. The deflector assembly is movably supported to the sprinkler body by at least one arm. The button defines an aperture that extends unobstructed all the way through the button from an upstream side to a downstream side.
Shower head
A spray head has an inlet in fluid communication with a plurality of nozzles. The nozzles are adapted to produce, in use, a jet of fluid which is directed toward a respective impingement surface portion. The jet of fluid impacts on the respective impingement surface portion and breaks into a stream of droplets. The stream of droplets has an elongate transverse cross-section.
Non-linear spray pattern nozzles
The invention pertains generally to removable spray tip nozzles that change the direction of the aerosol path from collinear with the nozzle tip body to non-collinear with the nozzle tip body.
Rotary strip nozzles and deflectors
Rotary nozzles are provided that produce multiple discrete water streams for the irrigation of a substantially rectangular irrigation area. The nozzles may be designed to function as one of a left corner strip nozzle, right corner strip nozzle, and side strip nozzle. Each nozzle includes a particular type of nozzle housing with multiple flow channels oriented to irrigate a rectangular area in a certain position relative to the nozzle. The side strip nozzle includes one or more groups of two flow channels that are asymmetric with respect to one another. Further, each nozzle includes a deflector that rotates in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction, depending on the position of the rectangular irrigation area relative to the nozzle. By matching deflector rotation with the position of the rectangular irrigation area, the uniformity of irrigation within the rectangular irrigation area can be increased.
Spray device and spray nozzle body
The present invention relates to a spray of microjets emanating at an inclined angle from nozzles comprised in a substantially planar membrane layer. A spray nozzle unit for spraying a plurality of fluidic microjets from a pressurized liquid comprises a substantially planar (semiconductor) support having an upstream surface and a downstream surface, and a spray membrane layer arranged on the downstream surface of the support. The spray membrane layer comprises a plurality of nozzle orifices each configured for spraying a fluidic microjet in a Rayleigh regime. Thee support defines a cavity extending from the upstream surface to the spray membrane layer. The cavity is in fluid communication with each one of the nozzle orifices for supplying the pressurized liquid to the nozzle orifices. A position of the nozzle orifices, seen along a direction perpendicular to the downstream surface, is offset in respect of a centre of the cavity. At least two of the nozzle orifices exhibit a different offset in respect of the centre of the cavity.
Fire protection nozzle, fire protection sprinkler, fire protection systems, and methods of manufacturing a fire protection nozzle and a fire protection sprinkler
A fire protection nozzle includes a body having two frame arms having proximal ends connected to an outlet of the body, and distal ends, the two frame arms defining a frame arm plane, and a junction formed by the distal ends of the frame arms, the junction including a central bore and a cylindrical outer wall. A circular deflector is mounted to the body, and includes a planar disk having a mounting hole in a center of the planar disk to receive the cylindrical outer wall of the junction, and a plurality of slots on a periphery of the circular planar disk. The plurality of slots includes four radial first slots, four radial second slots, eight radial third slots, and eight fourth slots. The nozzle has a K-factor of at least 28 gpm/(psi).sup.1/2.
LOW DRIFT, HIGH EFFICIENCY SPRAYING SYSTEM
A spray tip including a spray tip body and flow control element is provided. The flow control element includes a pre-orifice through which fluid can enter a primary fluid passage of the spray tip body. First and second discharge orifices are provided in a dome-shaped end wall of the spray tip body with each of the first and second discharge orifices being arranged on a respective one of opposing first and second sides of an apex of the dome-shaped end wall. Each of the first and second discharge orifices having an elongated slot-like configuration that maintains a substantially constant width as the respective discharge orifice extends from a first end to a second end and each and each extending a substantially equal distance to either side of the apex of the dome-shaped end wall.
