Articulating object
An articulating object is provided, including first and second body portions, a first cable segment and a cable drive system. The second body portion has a neutral axis and is articulatable. The first cable segment is of a push-pull cable type and extends along the second body portion on a first side of the neutral axis. The cable drive system can move the first cable segment in a first direction so as to generate a first moment on the second body portion in a first moment direction, thereby driving articulation of the second body portion in a first articulation direction. The cable drive system can move the first cable segment in a second direction for the first cable segment so as to generate a first moment on the second body portion in a second moment direction, thereby driving articulation of the second body portion in a second articulation direction.

ROBOT AND HEAD THEREOF
A head of a robot includes a head housing, a lace panel connected to the head housing, a mask moveably connected to the head housing, a mounting frame arranged within the head housing, a first servo connected to the mounting frame, and a first transmission mechanism to transmit motion from the first servo to the mask so as to move the mask between a first position where the mask covers the face panel and a second position where the mask is lifted to expose the face panel.
Figure, base, and figure system
A figure system includes a drive unit and a figure. The drive unit includes a plurality of first actuators. The figure includes a plurality of joints. The joints have one or more axial joint mechanisms. Drive force derived from at least one of the first actuators is transmitted to corresponding at least one of the axial joint mechanisms through a wire. The drive unit includes, as the plurality of first actuators, a plurality of servomotors having respective drive shafts. The figure includes coupler members having respective bearing holes. The bearing holes are detachably coupled to the respective drive shafts of the servomotors, or configured to be detachably coupled to the respective drive shafts of the servomotors. The wire has a first end coupled to corresponding one of the axial joint mechanisms, and a second end coupled to corresponding one of the coupler members.

TOY WITH A DEGRADABLE FILM RELEASE MECHANISM AND CONTAINMENT DEVICE
The toy has a liquid degradable membrane extending over the opening of a hollow containment device. The membrane maintains a compressible component, such as a layer foam, in the device in its compressed state. A structure such as a doll supports the compressed component in the containment device, which may take the form of a plant pot. In a preferred embodiment, the compressed foam will expand through the plane of the membrane when contacted by the liquid after it passes through the membrane. An applicator may be provided to facilitate the application of the liquid to the membrane.

ASSEMBLY WITH OBJECT IN HOUSING AND MECHANISM TO OPEN HOUSING
In an aspect, a toy assembly is provided and includes a housing and an inner object inside the housing. The inner object includes a breakout mechanism that includes a hammer and an actuation lever. The hammer is movable between a retracted position in which the hammer is spaced from the housing and an advanced position in which the hammer is positioned to break the housing. The actuation lever is pivotable from a hammer retraction position towards a hammer driving position so as to drive the hammer towards the advanced position.

Nature-emulating amusement device
An embodiment of the invention providing a butterfly emulation by a structure including a body and attached wings that are folded, covered, and initially contained in cocoon-like structure, and the user participates in unfolding and establishment of an emerged butterfly. Moreover, the emerged and unfolded butterfly (or other phenomenon of nature) is movable in a life-like motion by the user. Further novel embodiments include different hard and soft covering or containing structures. Such containing structures may also include devices and systems to allow the amusement device to emulate natural phenomenon changes such as the emergence of the butterfly in response to cycles or conditions (e.g. light, sound and/or temperature) sensed from the environment surrounding the butterfly structure, and containing structure.
