The diverter may be configured to divert radially outward a matrix-coated fiber. The head may also include a cutoff having an edge configured to press the matrix-coated fiber against the diverter.
Spray-coating gun for spray coating objects with coating powder
The present invention relates to a spray-coating gun for the spray coating of objects with coating powder. The front end region of the spray-coating gun has a coating-powder spray head and the opposite, rear end region of said spray-coating gun has a coating-powder connection and at least one compressed-gas connection. Coating powder can be supplied via the coating-powder connection to a coating-powder channel extending to the coating-powder spray head, while compressed gas can be supplied via the at least one compressed-gas connection to at least one compressed-gas channel extending to the front end region of the spray-coating gun. In order to optimize the coating quality which can be achieved with the spray-coating gun, it is provided according to the invention that the compressed-gas channel has at least one compressed-gas branch via which at least some of the compressed gas added to the compressed-gas channel is supplied to the coating-powder channel in order to adjust a powder/air mixture necessary for atomizing at the coating-powder spray head and/or for homogenizing the coating powder supplied to the coating-powder channel.
Method of producing electrode, and electrode production apparatus
An aerosol including an active material powder, a binder, and a gas is prepared. An electric field is formed between a substrate and a porous electrode. The aerosol is electrically charged. The aerosol after the electrically charging is introduced into the electric field. The aerosol passes through the porous electrode and thereby the aerosol is introduced into the electric field. At the time of the aerosol passing through the porous electrode, the aerosol comes into contact with the porous electrode and thereby the aerosol is electrically charged. In the electric field, the aerosol after the electrically charging flies toward the substrate due to electrostatic force. The aerosol adheres to a surface of the substrate and thereby an active material layer is formed.
Ultrahigh efficiency spray drying apparatus and process
The disclosure relates to ultrahigh efficiency spray drying systems and processes, utilizing induction of localized turbulence in a drying fluid flow stream to produce spray dried product, having particular utility for low temperature spray drying operations. In a specific implementation, a method of processing a spray dryable liquid composition to form a spray dried product includes the steps of: generating a spray of the spray dryable liquid composition; contacting the spray of spray dryable liquid composition in a spray drying contact zone with a stream of primary drying fluid; injecting pressurized secondary drying fluid into the stream of primary drying fluid in the spray drying contact zone at multiple loci thereof to provide localized turbulence at said multiple loci; and recovering the spray dried product from the spray drying contact zone. Systems of the present disclosure are effective in achieving high-rate production of dry powder spray dried products, with substantially reduced capital equipment costs, energy requirements, and operating expenditures.
Powder spray gun comprising a wear resistant electrode support
A spray nozzle assembly is provided with an electrode, a wear resistant member, and a compliant sleeve. The wear resistant member supports the electrode and is supported by the compliant sleeve. For coating operations that use abrasive powder such as porcelain enamel, the wear resistant member may comprise ceramic. The compliant sleeve may be made of an elastic material such as plastic, which allows one end of the compliant sleeve to receive an end of a glass powder tube. The wear resistant member may be in the form of a ceramic spider. The electrode may be installed in-line with a powder flow path defined by the powder tube, which extends through a spray gun body.
POWDER GUN CONFIGURABLE FOR SUPPLY FROM VENTURI OR DENSE PHASE PUMP
A powder spray gun includes a powder flow path inlet and a powder flow path outlet, the powder flow path inlet being connectable in a first configuration to a dilute phase powder pump and in a second configuration to a dense phase powder pump, wherein the powder spray gun comprises a spray nozzle that is the same for the first and second configurations. The powder flow path is provided by a powder tube that extends through the gun, with the powder tube having a first diameter at an inlet portion of the spray gun and a second diameter at an outlet portion of the spray gun, with the second diameter being greater than the first diameter. The powder flow path may also include a conical transition portion, and a member for adding air to the powder flow.
Air spray painting apparatus
An air spray painting apparatus for sending a fan of atomized paint spray via a first entrainment flow of carrier fluid and of a second flow of carrier fluid, separate from the first entrainment flow and capable of forming the spray fan, includes electrical heating elements for heating to one and the same temperature the first and second flows of carrier fluid, and a unit for regulation and control of the heating elements.
Passive Electrostatic CO2 Composite Spray Applicator
An electrostatic spray application apparatus and method for producing an electrostatically charged and homogeneous CO.sub.2 composite spray mixture containing an additive and simultaneously projecting at a substrate surface. The spray mixture is formed in the space between CO.sub.2 and additive mixing nozzles and a substrate surface. The spray mixture is a composite fluid having a variably-controlled aerial and radial spray density comprising pressure- and temperature-regulated propellant gas (compressed air), CO.sub.2 particles, and additive particles. There are two or more circumferential and high velocity air streams containing passively charged CO.sub.2 particles which are positioned axis-symmetrically and coaxially about an inner and lower velocity injection air stream containing one or more additives to form a spray cluster. The axis-symmetrical CO.sub.2 particle-air streams are passively tribocharged during formation, and the spray clustering arrangement creates a significant electrostatic field and Coanda air mass flow between and surrounding the coaxial flow streams.
