Nozzle for a thermal spray gun and method of thermal spraying
A nozzle for a thermal spray gun and a method of thermal spraying are disclosed. The nozzle has a combustion chamber within which fuel is burned to produce a stream of combustion gases. The streams of heated gases exit through a pair of linear exhausts which are located on either side of an aerospike. The streams converge outside the nozzle and powdered coating material is introduced into the converging streams immediately downstream of the aerospike. The coating material is heated and accelerated before impacting on a substrate to be coated.
Apparatus and method for selectively applying powder coatings onto internally threaded fasteners
An apparatus for applying a thermoplastic powder to internal threads of a fastener includes a vacuum nozzle having an end adapted to engage a first surface of the fastener. A spray tube is sized to be inserted within the bore of the fastener and communicates with a source or sources of thermoplastic powder and pressurized air. A bushing is mounted on the spray tube so that the spray tube is able to slide with respect to the bushing. The bushing is adapted to engage a second surface of the fastener. The spray tube and bushing are movable between clamping positions, where the vacuum nozzle and the bushing engage the first and second surfaces of the fastener, and release positions where the vacuum nozzle and the bushing do not engage the first and second surfaces of the fastener. A fastener holder holds the fastener between the vacuum nozzle and the bushing so that when the vacuum nozzle and the bushing are in the clamping positions, the spray tube enters the bore of the fastener and sprays thermoplastic powder on the internal threads of the fastener with excess thermoplastic powder collected by the vacuum nozzle. The vacuum nozzle and bushing may be machined and to permit either, both or neither of first and second chamfers of the fasteners to also be coated.
FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM
A remote-controlled powder fire extinguishing system includes a robotic mobile unit including a powder storage unit, a powder fluidization system, and a powder distribution system, the mobile unit being configured to distribute a fluidized powder onto a location affected by a fire, a remote control center, operable outside of the location affected by the fire, including a controller programmed to remotely communicate with and control the mobile unit, the powder storage unit, the powder fluidization system, and the powder distribution system, and a device configured to provide wireless connection between the mobile unit and the remote control center.
AEROSOL DEPOSITION APPARATUS, METHOD, AND FILTER BODY WITH DEPOSITS
Apparatus and methods are disclosed which apply inorganic particles to a plugged honeycomb body comprising porous walls, an inlet end and an outlet end. The apparatus comprises a Venturi tube through which the particles flow into a duct system. Filtration articles comprise: a plugged honeycomb body; inorganic deposits disposed within the plugged honeycomb filter body having a porosity in a range of greater than 95% to less than or equal to 99.9% and an average thickness in a range of greater than or equal to 0.5 .Math.m to less than or equal to 50 .Math.m; and a clean filtration efficiency of greater than or equal to 85% as measured by a smoke filtration efficiency test.
MATERIAL SPRAY GUN
A spray gun includes a gun body and valves configured to control flow of material and air through the gun body. A trigger is mounted to the gun body and is disposed relative to the valves such that the trigger actuates the valves in sequence to begin air flow and material flow. A sensor senses when the trigger is in an actuated state and the sensor causes a pump to begin pumping material to the spray gun. Release of the trigger causes the trigger to leave the actuated state. A detent mechanism holes the trigger in a detent state intermediate the actuated state and a resting state. The sensor does not sense the trigger with the trigger in the detent state. The trigger maintains the valves open with the trigger in the detent state.
NOZZLE ASSEMBLY FOR COLD SPRAY
A nozzle assembly is provided that includes two sections, the first section may be contoured and the second section may be a converging and diverging section that is downstream from the second section in the direction of gas flow. The contoured section, with a range of bend angles, allows for non-line-of-sight cold spray deposition, thereby providing location-specific control of the cold spray deposition process.
Applicator with multiple offset booms and method of controlling the same
An agricultural product delivery applicator for delivering particulate product to a field. The applicator includes a supply compartment to hold the product, a pneumatic conveying system, a metering system, and a controller. The pneumatic conveying system includes first delivery line operably connected to an airflow source and to the supply compartment, and a second delivery line operably connected to the airflow source and to the supply compartment. The metering system includes a first metering device associated with the first delivery line and a second metering device associate with the second delivery line. The controller controls the air flow source, the first metering device to meter product to result in a first mixed flow of airflow and product for the first delivery line, and the second metering device to meter product with the airflow to result in a second mixed flow of airflow and product for the second delivery line.
NOZZLE UNIT AND COATING APPARATUS INCLUDING THE SAME
An embodiment includes a coating apparatus comprising: a support unit for supporting a coating object; and a spray assembly for spraying a fluid which includes a coating material to be coated by the coating object supported on the support unit. The spray assembly comprises: a nozzle unit where the fluid is sprayed; and a fluid supply unit for supplying the fluid to the nozzle unit. The nozzle unit comprises: a body including a passageway for the fluid therein and a dielectric unit provided with a dielectric material; and a plasma source for generating plasma from the fluid which flows to an area adjacent to inner lateral surface of the dielectric unit. The plasma source comprises: a power electrode applying a power; and a ground electrode to be grounded.
DISPENSER FOR SPRAYING POWDER AND POWDER SPRAYER INCLUDING SAME
The present invention provides a 2-way air flow type dispenser for spraying powder and a powder sprayer including the same. The present invention adopts a 2-way air flow manner in which an air flow causing the powder to be sprayed and an air flow causing the powder to be transferred from a container to a spraying nozzle are separately formed, thereby enabling the smooth spraying of the powder.
