Method for removing a follower plate from a container

A method removes a follower plate of a device for transporting viscous material out of a barrel-like container. The device has the follower plate for closing the container, which is open at the top and has a container base and a container casing extending upwards from the base, the follower plate being movable toward and away from the base. A force measuring sensor measures a force exerted by a container onto a placement surface; the controller switches the ventilation mode to the lifting mode if the force exerted by the container onto the placement surface exceeds a first target force value; and the controller switches the lifting mode to the ventilation mode if the force exerted by the container onto the placement surface falls below a second target force value, and/or the at least one sensor measures the position of the container relative to a stationary point.

Reagent pack with integrated waste reservoir

A reagent pack includes a first reservoir having a continuous rigid wall defining a constant inner space that opens to the ambient environment. An air-tight second reservoir has a flexible wall that defines a variable inner space with one or more second openings. The second reservoir is arranged within the first reservoir and stores fluid reagent. A closure element completely fills the first opening of the first reservoir and includes a first fluid passage fluidly connecting the inner space of the first reservoir, as the waste reservoir, to receive waste liquid. Second fluid passages fluidly connect the second openings of said second reservoirs with respective reagent inlets to supply fluid reagent to the sample analyzer. The inner space of the first reservoir further includes an air passage to allow gaseous communication with the ambient environment to maintain a controlled pressure within said inner space while receiving waste liquid.

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) includes a sprayer configured to generate a pressurized fluid flow and a nozzle configured to receive the pressurized fluid from the sprayer and to generate a spray fan to apply the fluid to a surface. The UAV includes sensors and a control unit to control both flight of the UAV and spraying by the sprayer. The fluid can be stored onboard the UAV in a reservoir or can be remotely stored and pumped to the UAV. The UAV control unit can be preloaded with a spray plan and a flight plan, or the UAV can be controlled by a user.

LUBRICIOUS SURFACES, SYSTEMS AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME

Embodiments, described herein relate generally to devices, systems, apparatus, and methods for producing lubricious surfaces that increase the ease of communication of viscous liquids across the same. The apparatus can include a container having an inner surface and a lubricating liquid disposed on a surface, the lubricating liquid including a surfactant. In some embodiments, a sprayer hub can rotate about a center axis and deliver the lubricating liquid to the inner surface. In some embodiments, a contact liquid can fill at least a portion of the container. In some embodiments, the surfactant can be an amphiphilic molecule that is substantially immiscible with the lubricating liquid and at least partially miscible with the contact liquid. In some embodiments, the surfactant can form a barrier at an interface between the lubricating liquid and the contact liquid.

Fluid pressure-feed device

A fluid pressure-feed device includes a main tank and a sub tank. The sub tank is connected integrally with an upper portion of a main follower plate that applies pressurizing force to a urethane adhesive inside the main tank. A drum pump is provided in an upper portion of a sub follower plate provided in the sub tank. While the urethane adhesive is flowing into the sub tank from the main tank, the urethane adhesive is fed under pressure from the sub tank to a fluid passage by actuation of the drum pump. While the main tank is being replaced, the urethane adhesive inside the sub tank is fed under pressure to the fluid passage by the drum pump.
