Embodiments include individual physical spray nozzles that have passageways inside to combine fluids that flow out of the spray nozzles. The nozzles have at least two valves that are opened and closed in an interleaved manner. The nozzles have multiple outlets. Such nozzles are mounted on a variety of implements including agricultural or industrial spray booms.

SPRAY APPLICATION OF AGROCHEMICALS

In a system for applying sprayed droplets from a nozzle located in an environment with changing conditions affecting droplet size, a method of controlling droplet size comprising locating a droplet size measurement system at a location downstream from an outlet of the nozzle; receiving at a processor data describing droplets measured by the droplet size measurement system; determining at the processor a measured droplet size distribution from the data; inputting the measured droplet size distribution to a control algorithm in the processor; comparing the measured droplet size distribution to a target droplet size distribution; and outputting from the control algorithm a at least one signal corresponding to a parameter of the system for effecting a change in the droplet size distribution.

An aerial vehicle includes a liquid chemical tank, at least one spray unit, at least one actuator, a plurality of sensors, and a processing unit. The processing unit is configured to determine an air movement direction relative to a projection of the fore-aft axis onto the ground and determine an air movement speed relative to the ground, the determination comprising utilization of the speed of the aerial vehicle, the air movement direction relative to the aerial vehicle with respect to the fore-aft axis of the aerial vehicle and the air movement speed relative to the aerial vehicle. The processing unit is configured to control at least one flying operation of the aerial vehicle and/or control the at least one actuator.

Light-curable material applicator and associated methods

Described herein is an apparatus for applying and curing a light-curable material on a work surface. The apparatus includes a nozzle from which the light-curable material is applied to the work surface to form a layer of light-curable material on the work surface. The layer of light-curable material has a leading edge and a trailing edge defined according to a direction of movement of the nozzle relative to the work surface. The apparatus also includes a light source fixed relative to the nozzle. The light source is operable to direct a light beam to the trailing edge of the layer of light-curable material.

System and method for controlling the ground speed of an agricultural sprayer during a turn
12097850 · 2024-09-24 ·

An agricultural sprayer includes a computing system configured to receive a first input associated with a target application rate at which agricultural fluid is to be dispensed onto the field. Moreover, the computing system is configured to receive a second input associated with a turn being made or to be made by the sprayer. Additionally, the computing system is configured to determine a maximum ground speed for the turn at which a selected nozzle dispenses the agricultural fluid onto the field at the target application rate based on the received first and second inputs. Furthermore, when the turn is being made, the computing system is configured to control an operation of the sprayer such that the ground speed of the sprayer is at or below the determined maximum ground speed.
