LIQUID MATERIAL APPLICATION APPARATUS AND LIQUID MATERIAL APPLICATION METHOD
A liquid material is discharged in a constant amount per unit time regardless of a relative moving speed. The liquid material application apparatus includes a discharge head, a robot moving the discharge head relative to a workpiece, a movement control unit controlling relative movement of the discharge head and the workpiece, and a discharge control unit controlling an operation of discharging a liquid material from a discharge head, wherein the discharge control unit executes, in a switchable manner in accordance with an application program, first mode discharge control of changing a discharge amount of the liquid material, which is discharged from the discharge head per unit time, depending on a relative moving speed between the discharge head and the workpiece, and second mode discharge control of operating the discharge head to discharge the liquid material in a predetermined discharge amount per unit time regardless of the relative moving speed.

Coating surfaces by a DOD application method
Provided is a method of coating at least an area of a surface by a Drop-on-Demand (DOD) method, comprising the steps of providing a DOD dispensing head (1) with at least two individually controllable nozzles (2) arranged in a row, which is moved by a robotic device, applying a movement to the DOD dispensing head parallel while maintaining a distance between the nozzles (2) and the surface, wherein the movement comprises a rotation of the dispensing head around an axis perpendicular to the surface, dispensing discrete amounts of a the liquid coating material through the at least one nozzle onto the surface, wherein firing of the at least 2 nozzles is triggered non-synchronously by a control unit.
Spray pattern of nozzle systems
A system and method for dispersing fluids from an agricultural vehicle includes a sprayer that dispenses the fluids and a controller cooperative with a plurality of sensors to sense vehicle travel speed, vehicle travel direction, wind speed, wind direction, and the heights of first and second nozzles from the ground surface. The controller includes a memory storing a look-up table having fan angles of the first and second nozzles, and a processor that computes first and second spray pattern on the ground surface based on the fluid dispensed through the respective first and second nozzles. The processor determines an overlap region between the first and second spray patterns, compares the determined overlap region with a pre-determined overlap, and takes corrective action automatically by changing travel speed of the vehicle or changing a duration of time the fluids are dispensed from the first and second nozzles.

An application device for applying at least one fluid product on a substrate, including an application member having an outlet orifice for the fluid product(s) outside the application device and, for at least one fluid product, an adjusting member able to adjust a dosing flow of the fluid product through the outlet orifice as a function of a command input of the adjusting member provided by a command module, the application device also including a speed measuring device able to determine a measured speed of the outlet orifice relative to an inertial reference, the command module being configured to determine the command input as a function of the measured speed.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COATING DISCRETE PATCHES ON A MOVING SUBSTRATE
An apparatus for accurately coating discrete patches of coating on a moving substrate is described. The coating system applies coating to a moving substrate using a coating distribution device. A flow pump pumps the coating from a reservoir into the coating distributing device where a portion of the coating is deposited and the remainder is allowed to returned back to the reservoir. The coating distribution device selectively meters a portion of the coating it receives from the flow pump onto the substrate at a variable rate. When the coating distribution device transitions from metering to not metering and to reverse metering, it induces a vacuum in the coating distribution device. The induced vacuum causes a portion of the coating being distributed onto the substrate to flow in reverse quickly breaking the deposition of the coating.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REAL-TIME MEASUREMENT AND CONTROL OF SPRAYED LIQUID COVERAGE ON PLANT SURFACES
Presented herein are systems and methods for automatically determining liquid coverage on plant surfaces. More particularly, in certain embodiments, presented herein is a system for receiving an image depicting one or more plant surfaces, automatically identifying the plant surfaces in the image and distinguishing portions covered by liquid, and automatically determining a liquid coverage value. In some embodiments, the system determines changes to liquid spraying parameters to achieve desired liquid coverage values. In some embodiments, the system uses two cameras to cooperatively conduct background removal in images and determination of liquid coverage.
Agricultural sprayer active boom center frame positioning system
One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a center frame positioning method for an agricultural sprayer. The method comprises activating a center frame positioning system and collecting and processing position data related to a position of a suspended center frame in the center frame positioning system. The method further comprises evaluating the position data to determine whether any adjustment to the position of the suspended center frame is needed and controlling actuator force in at least one actuator to adjust the position of the suspended center frame based on the evaluating the position data.
HYBRID FLOW NOZZLE SYSTEM
Embodiments include individual physical spray nozzles that have passageways inside to combine fluids that flow out of the spray nozzles. The nozzles have at least two valves that are opened and closed in an interleaved manner. The nozzles have multiple outlets. Such nozzles are mounted on a variety of implements including agricultural or industrial spray booms.
