Flexible tubular tape

A flexible tubular tape product includes a hollow tape tube formed from a spiral wound strip of overlapping pressure sensitive adhesive coated tape. The hollow tube defines an empty interior core space. The outside surface of the hollow tape tube is coated with the pressure sensitive adhesive. A flexible core shaft is positioned inside the interior core space of the hollow tape tube in order to impart some body and ease of handling to the tape tube product.

A method for masking an aeronautical structure with a frisket before painting such aeronautical structure, including the steps of: providing the aeronautical structure comprising at least one hole; providing the frisket; providing at least one jamming element, wherein said jamming element is configured to be inserted into the at least one hole; providing at least one C-shaped jamming element configured to be placed on a lateral of the first section; arranging the frisket partially over the at least one hole; inserting the at least one jamming element into the at least one hole, partially holding the frisket; wrapping the first section of the aeronautical structure with the frisket, said first section being masked to avoid its painting; and placing the at least one C-shaped jamming element laterally embracing the first section with the frisket, the frisket being clamped against said first section.

Use of combined masking techniques and/or combined material removal techniques to protectively coat electronic devices

Processes for masking electronic devices, including, but not limited to, electronic subassemblies, prior to the application of protective coatings to the electronic devices are disclosed. Such processes include the use of a plurality of different masking techniques in combination to mask the electronic device. Different masking techniques may be used to mask different features and/or components of the electronic device. Some features and/or components may be masked by way of two or more masking techniques. With one or more masks in place, an electronic device may be protectively coated. After a protective coating has been applied to the electronic device, at least a portion of the mask(s) may be removed from the electronic device. Protectively coated electronic devices may then be assembled with one another.
