Paint design template production and associated systems and methods

Disclosed herein are a system and method for producing paint templates for painting a design on a target surface. The system includes a processor configured to generate a geo-file of paint template designs. The processor includes a design module configured to parse the design into a set of paint sub-designs and a template design module configured to generate the geo-file of paint template designs based on the set of paint sub-designs. The generated geo-file of paint template designs includes a paint template design that corresponds to a paint sub-design. The system further includes a plotter configured to produce a set of paint templates based on the geo-file of paint template designs. Each paint template design includes a set of alignment marks and each paint template is produced with a set of alignment apertures corresponding to the set of alignment marks.

Catch mat

A catch mat for protecting a floor and a wall during construction activities includes two or more cushioning pads each having a top surface, a bottom surface, and four peripheral edges. Each cushioning pad has a first part of a two-part fastener strip fixed along the top surface proximate one of the peripheral edges. A flexible second part of the two-part fastener strip is adapted to engage the first part of the two-part fastener strip of adjacent and abutting cushioning pads to fasten them mutually yet pivotally together. Each cushioning pad further includes at least one resilient masking strip projecting away from one of the peripheral edges of the cushioning pad at the top surface thereof. In use, the cushioning pads, fastened together, are placed on the floor against the wall with the masking strip bent upward against the wall to protect the floor and wall from falling debris.

Masking film stacks, kits composed of said film stacks, adhesive tapes, and covering tapes, and methods for producing said stacks and kits are provided. The masking film stacks comprise masking films having widths and lengths, wherein the masking films are foldable along folding lines, running along the lengths, to form double-ply-folded masking films such that two free longitudinal edges of the double-ply-folded masking films run adjacent to each another and the double-ply masking films are foldable to form stacks and the two longitudinal edges lie on the masking film stacks.

Film for masking aircraft components and method of positioning same
11684940 · 2023-06-27 · ·

The invention solves the problem of protecting aircraft components during finishing. Such components are large and require masking films of vast dimensions which are difficult to handle and position rapidly. The invention relates to films packaged to facilitate transport, and to a method of positioning the packaged films on the corresponding components. The longitudinal and/or transverse portions of the films are packaged by means of at least one opération chosen from among: accordion folding, telescopic folding, gâte folding, roll folding, winding around a mandrel, and winding on itself. The packaged films can have positioning markers on at least one surface and/or tear lines suitable for detaching the portions of film to be separated. The invention also concerns a kit comprising a film and a guide element for guiding the positioning of the film on the component.

Adhesive tape dispenser having a deflecting device
11667490 · 2023-06-06 · ·

An adhesive tape dispenser having a holder for an adhesive tape roll (2) and a guide system for an adhesive tape (3) pulled off from the adhesive tape roll (2) and a deflecting edge (10) for the pulled-off adhesive tape (3). Deflecting edge is arranged at the end of the guide system in the pull-off direction (A) and deflects the pulled-off adhesive tape (3) from the pull-off direction (A). The deflecting edge (10) has a deflection axis, which has a component directed in the pull-off direction (A), and an affixing direction (B) is arranged transversely to the pull-off direction (A).

RAPID CAULK TAPE SYSTEM AND METHOD

The device is a tape having a pair of parallel perforated lines running lengthwise along the center of the tape having a pressure-sensitive adhesive coating on a bottom surface of said tape whereby the tape is comprised of three sections: a first adhesive section, a non-adhesive section and a second adhesive section, with the non-adhesive section defined by the perforated lines.

Protective shield for painting and the like, and method of use
09744547 · 2017-08-29 ·

A shield unit, intended primarily for the protection of a carpet from the accidental application of paint applied to an adjacent baseboard, and suitable for disposable use, consists of two superposed plies of a film, comprised or consisting of a plastic material, which cooperatively define a plurality of adjacent pockets and have a common, structurally reinforced leading edge. The shield unit is long and narrow, and is constructed to facilitate entry of its leading edge into the effective gap that is normally present between the bottom of a baseboard and a carpet on the floor; the pockets serve to receive the blade of a tool, such as a putty knife, to which force may be applied to assist in pushing the leading edge of the shield into the effective gap. The shield unit may be provided as individual, relatively short sections, typically at least 30 inches long and four inches wide, or longer units may be used to cover an extended length of carpet with a single section. A multiplicity of shield units may be cut or otherwise separated from a continuous length strip, typically at least eight feet long, which may be provided in the form of a roll or a folded stack.

ELECTRICAL COVER

The electrical cover is a flexible, friction-held electrical cover that guards outlets from finish materials such as paint, spackling, and other foreign materials. The frictionally-held finish material electrical covers utilize specifically shaped features on the surfaces, such as negative draft, that contact the electrical components to increase the hold on the electrical device. Some of the shaped features of the frictionally-held covers also help minimize stress in the cover. The electrical covers are shaped with an arched rear surface that assists in minimizing edge warping when the electrical cover is positioned against the wall surface. Features are also molded into the parts to assist and strengthen the cover flatness once installed, and thus protect against the intrusion of finish material behind the cover.
