Offset masking device and method

A mask includes a masking body including at least a first edge, a second edge, and a third edge, together defining at least part of a perimeter around a first surface and a second opposing surface. A standoff arrangement includes at least one projection extending from the first or second surface of the masking body. The at least one projection is connected to the first or second surface at a location inward from the at least one edge of the masking body, thereby defining a first overhanging portion of the masking body overhanging the at least one projection proximate to the at least one edge of the masking body.

KIT TO PROTECT FIXTURES FROM PAINT AND DUST

Method of applying an high velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF)-resistant masking tape to the surface of a workpiece (112) such that multiple lengths of tape (116, 118) are abutted to one another to form butt joints (132), the butt joint (132) is then covered with additional lengths of tape (120).

RETROREFLECTIVE SURFACE LAYERS

Techniques related to retroreflective surface layers for micro-mobility transit vehicles are disclosed. A retroreflective surface layer may be formed over at least a portion of a component of a micro-mobility transit vehicle by forming a powder coat layer over the portion of the component and baking the powder coat layer to cure the powder coat layer. An uncured clear coat layer may be formed over the powder coat layer. The uncured clear coat layer may be impregnated with a plurality of glass beads via an air-pressure applicator. The uncured clear coat layer impregnated with the glass beads may be baked to cure the clear coat layer. The retroreflective surface layer may include the powder coat layer, clear coat layer, and the plurality of glass beads distributed within the clear coat layer. The retroreflective surface layer may reflect incident light back to its source with minimal scattering of the light.

PAINT DESIGN TEMPLATE PRODUCTION AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Disclosed herein are a system and method for producing paint templates for painting a design on a target surface. The system includes a processor configured to generate a geo-file of paint template designs. The processor includes a design module configured to parse the design into a set of paint sub-designs and a template design module configured to generate the geo-file of paint template designs based on the set of paint sub-designs. The generated geo-file of paint template designs includes a paint template design that corresponds to a paint sub-design. The system further includes a plotter configured to produce a set of paint templates based on the geo-file of paint template designs. Each paint template design includes a set of alignment marks and each paint template is produced with a set of alignment apertures corresponding to the set of alignment marks.
