PAINT DESIGN TEMPLATE PRODUCTION AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Disclosed herein are a system and method for producing paint templates for painting a design on a target surface. The system includes a processor configured to generate a geo-file of paint template designs. The processor includes a design module configured to parse the design into a set of paint sub-designs and a template design module configured to generate the geo-file of paint template designs based on the set of paint sub-designs. The generated geo-file of paint template designs includes a paint template design that corresponds to a paint sub-design. The system further includes a plotter configured to produce a set of paint templates based on the geo-file of paint template designs. Each paint template design includes a set of alignment marks and each paint template is produced with a set of alignment apertures corresponding to the set of alignment marks.

SPRAYING SYSTEM FOR FOOTWEAR

The manufacturing of footwear includes the joining of components. The joining may be accomplished with adhesive. The adhesive, such as a polyurethane, is applied as a single-sided adhesive to a footwear component. The application of the adhesive can contaminate the system that is applying the adhesive with intentional over spray of the footwear component. The over spray ensures adequate coverage of the footwear component to allow a sufficient bond. A masking platform of the system masks portions of the system to limit the contamination caused by the over spray. Additionally, material brushes and scrapers may engage with components of the system to remove or limit adhesive contamination on those components. A vision system maps a surface of the footwear component to ensure the adhesive is applied for the specific article.

A system for forming a particle layer on a substrate may include at least one sprayer and at least two masks configured to selectively mask a substrate in a first region and second region of the substrate. The at least one sprayer may be configured to spray particles at the substrate, where the at least two masks maintain the first region and second region substantially free of the deposited material. A heater may be employed to heat the substrate as the particles are sprayed by the at least one sprayer onto the substrate.

Aircraft structure component for laminar flow

An aircraft structure component for laminar flow, the aircraft structure component having an outer skin with an aerodynamic surface, wherein the aerodynamic surface has a leading edge portion and a downstream portion adjacently downstream from the leading edge portion, and wherein the downstream portion of the aerodynamic surface includes a paint layer that is not present in the leading edge portion, so that an edge line is formed between the leading edge portion and the downstream portion by the beginning paint layer. An object, to provide an aircraft structure component that allows for a reduced aerodynamic drag, is achieved in that the edge line has a ramp-shaped cross section, wherein the thickness of the paint layer increases from a starting point over a predetermined ramp length to a saturation point where the full thickness of the paint layer is reached.

RAPID CAULK TAPE SYSTEM AND METHOD
20200130980 · 2020-04-30 ·

The device assists in rapid caulking of seams between adjacent material; a tape is provided in rolls. The tape has a pair of parallel perforated lines running lengthwise along the center of the tape; and the tape having a pressure-sensitive adhesive coating on a bottom surface of said tape, the pressure-sensitive adhesive coating located between said perforated line and an exterior perimeter of said tape such that said tape is thereby comprised of three sections: a first adhesive section, a non-adhesive section and a second adhesive section, with the non-adhesive section defined by the perforated lines. The tape has an outwardly facing release coating such that the adhesive will releasably engage the top surface of the tape for manual separation of the tape when rolled upon itself. A crease is formed along the center of the tape to facilitate positioning of the tape in a wall corner. The tape also has a perforated removable center to be removed before caulking is applied.

FASTENED MEMBER, COATING JIG FOR THE SAME, AND METHOD OF COATING THE SAME

A fastened member such as a hinge which is a metal fastened member to be fastened with at least one fastener to at least one attachment surface of at least one target object such as a construction machine to which the fastened member is to be attached, the at least one target object containing steel, the fastened member including at least one contact surface to make contact with the at least one attachment surface, the at least one contact surface at least partially including at least one exposure portion where material having a higher ionization tendency than steel is exposed, wherein a portion of the fastened member that is other than the at least one contact surface is coated with a coating.
