DEVICE AND METHOD FOR APPLYING ADHESIVE TO CORES FOR A LOG
The present invention concerns a device (1) for applying adhesive to cores for a log comprising moving means (3) configured to cause at least one core (5) to advance along a feed direction (A) and dispensing means (7) configured for dispensing an amount of adhesive (9) on said core (5).
According to the invention such dispensing means (7) are moveable along an application direction (B) substantially orthogonal to the feed direction (A) and are configured to selectively dispense said amount of adhesive (9) along portions (11) of the core (5) during movement along said application direction (B).
Coating apparatus and method of coating joint
A coating apparatus for coating a perimeter surface of a pipeline. A frame selectively mounts a sprayer on the pipeline. The sprayer can spray fluid along a flow path in a spraying mode and preparation mode. In the preparation mode, a fluid diverter moves into the flow path to divert the fluid delivered from the sprayer away from the pipeline. In the spraying mode, the fluid diverter moves out of the flow path to permit the sprayer to coat the perimeter surface of the pipeline with a curable liquid. A vacuum system can draw a vacuum through the diverter to remove the fluid the sprayer sprays in the preparation mode. The flow path can be located in a spray shroud. The diverter can fluidly couple the vacuum system to the shroud interior in the spraying mode to remove overspray.
System and method for actuating a treatment device
A device actuation system for actuating a treatment device includes a first drive gear rotatably mountable to the treatment device, a coupler rail slidably mountable to the treatment device, a second drive gear rotatably mountable to the coupler rail, and a coupler gear rotatably mountable to the treatment device and engageable with the coupler rail. In addition, the device actuation system includes a drive rail locatable between the first drive gear and the second drive gear of the gear system. The coupler gear is rotatable to move the coupler rail in a manner maintaining the second drive gear in continuous engagement with the drive rail against the first drive gear. The first drive gear and the second drive gear are rotatable in a manner causing at least one of translation and rotation of the treatment device relative to the drive rail.
System for coating heat transfer tube for condenser
A system for coating a heat transfer tube for a condenser is disclosed. The system simplifies a process of coating the heat transfer tube, and is able to uniformly coat a plurality of heat transfer tubes. In addition, the system is economically feasible in that coating solution can be reused by collecting and circulating it. Due to super-hydrophobic coating, the size of a droplet condensed on the surfaces of the heat transfer tubes coated by the system can be reduced, and a condensation heat transfer coefficient can be increased.
Pipe Conditioning Tool
A pipe conditioning tool comprising a drive unit to move the tool along a pipe and a work head rotatable about an axis of the pipe to condition a surface of the pipe, the drive unit includes a frame extending to opposite sides of the pipe, the frame having legs extending radially beyond the work head to provide support for the tool upon removal from said pipe.
METHOD FOR COATING MICROSTRUCTURED COMPONENTS
The invention relates to a method for the surface modification of microstructured components having a polar surface, in particular for high-pressure applications. According to said method, a microstructured component is contacted, in particular treated, with a modification reagent, the surface properties of said component being modified by chemical and/or physical interaction of the component surface and of the modification reagent.
SYSTEM AND MANDREL FOR CREATING GRAFT DEVICES
A system for applying a fiber matrix on a tubular member is provided. A mandrel, configured for atraumatic placement within the tubular member, is included. Methods for atraumatic placement of a mandrel into a tubular member are also provided.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR COATING PIPELINES
An apparatus configured to coat pipelines, in particular a cutback along a pipeline, having: a frame, which extends along a designated axis and is fixable with respect to the pipeline so as to arrange the designated axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the pipeline; a carriage, which is supported by the frame, is movable along the designated axis with respect to the frame, and is configured to designated a heater and an applicator; an actuator configured to advance the carriage along the designated axis; and a control unit configured to select a travel distance for the carriage from a plurality of travel distances.
POWERED LIQUID SPRAY APPARATUS TO COAT PIPE JOINTS
A powered liquid spray apparatus mounts an air gun to a power-driven circumferential ring arranged for rotation about a pipe, with the air gun's nozzle oriented perpendicular to the pipe. The flow of coating through the nozzle is controlled as the power-driven ring rotates about the pipe. If the air gun is mounted parallel to the pipe, the pipe or pipe joint may be coated when skid mounted.
Adjustable Cantilevered Paint Actuation System
A surface treatment assembly for treating a contoured surface includes a surface treatment array formed from a plurality of base structures, each base structure operably coupled to a first phalange structure and a first phalange structure first end. A second phalange structure operatively coupled to each first phalange structure and a phalange joint disposed between each first phalange structure and each second phalange, thereby forming a finger structure. Moreover, at least one applicator head is coupled to a second phalange structure second end of each finger structure and configured to treat the contoured surface. A base structure actuator and a phalange joint actuator operatively coupled to and configured to manipulate the first phalange structure and the second phalange of each finger structure to adjust the surface treatment array relative to the contoured surface.
