Floating chopper sludge weir

A system for consolidating and removing contaminate such as paint sludge or oils from a fluid mixture. A contaminate tank receives a supply of the fluid mixture containing contaminate from a source such as a manufacturing line where overspray of paints or cleaning solutions containing washed away oils are collected. A free floating weir floats on the surface of the contaminate tank and mechanically separates and removes contaminate from a surface of the contaminate tank and concentrates contaminate in a consolidation tank. The free floating weir is equipped with several features that enhance the ability of the free floating weir to remove contaminate without becoming clogged.

EXHAUST/DRAINAGE MECHANISM

An exhaust/drainage mechanism includes an exhaust channel guiding contaminated air discharged from a coating booth with non-attached paint; a drainage channel guiding contaminated water discharged from the booth; a scum receiving inlet included in the drainage channel and into which the floating coating scum floating on the contaminated water flows; and a dual-purpose flow channel used as both the exhaust and drainage channel. The contaminated air flows through an upper part of the dual-purpose flow channel, and the contaminated water flows through a lower part. A wind pressure of the contaminated air generates, in an upper part of the contaminated water, an upper-layer flow flows in a direction or at a velocity different from a direction or a velocity of a flow in a lower part of the contaminated water. A dynamic pressure of the upper-layer flow pushes and moves the floating coating scum to the scum receiving inlet.

To efficiently perform an adhesion reduction treatment of water that circulates through a wet paint booth which contains a solvent-based paint by adding a relatively small amount of chemical to the water without the need for another chemical except that the alkaline chemical is used for pH adjustment, that is, with only one chemical. An aluminum salt having a basicity of 60% or more and an alkaline chemical are added to water that circulates through a wet paint booth which contains a solvent-based paint. An adhesion reduction treatment of the solvent-based paint is performed at a pH of 7 or more and is preferably performed at a pH of 7.5 or more. Using a powder mixture produced by mixing a powder of the aluminum salt with a powder of the alkaline chemical facilitates the treatment.

Coating facility and coating method

A coating facility including: a first base outer surface coating zone; a second base inner surface coating zone; a second base outer surface coating zone; a clear inner surface coating zone and a clear outer surface coating zone; and a baking zone in which each wet coating film are simultaneously baked and cured.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TREATING CIRCULATING WATER CIRCULATING THROUGH WET PAINT BOOTH

An adequate control of a pH of circulating water circulating through a wet paint booth enables an efficient coagulation treatment of a paint included in the circulating water. A method for treating circulating water circulating through a wet paint booth and including a paint includes treating the paint included in the circulating water by adding an alkaline solution of a phenolic resin to the circulating water, and adjusting a pH of the circulating water to 6.5 to 8.0. An amount of the alkaline solution of the phenolic resin added to the circulating water is increased when the pH of the circulating water is a predetermined value of 8.0 or less. An acidic aluminum salt is further added to the circulating water. An amount of the acidic aluminum salt added to the circulating water is increased when the pH of the circulating water is a predetermined value of 6.5 or more.
