20220168775 · 2022-06-02 ·

Described is a joint filler apparatus for transporting, mixing, and selectively dispensing a two-part joint filler material. The apparatus includes a first suction tube configured to have a distal end thereof submerged in the first material and a first pump configured to provide a suction force to the first suction tube for conveying the first material to a joint filler wand. The apparatus further includes a second suction tube configured to have a distal end thereof submerged within the second material, and a second pump configured to provide a suction force to the second suction tube for conveying the second material from the second container to the joint filler wand. The first pump and second pump are fluidly connected to the joint filler wand via a hose and the first material and the second are conveyed to a distal end of the joint filler wand for mixing the first material and the second material and dispensing a mixture of the first material and the second material.

Dispenser assembly

A dispenser assembly includes a rod, a plunger and a stopper. The rod has a plunger receiving end with a clip receiving recess. The plunger has a rod receiving structure with a rod engaging clip biased to fit to the clip receiving recess of the rod for movement therewith. The stopper has a plunger receiving space that defines an aperture extending through the plunger receiving space with the rod extending through the aperture. The plunger receiving space is dimensioned such that with the rod receiving structure of the plunger located within the plunger receiving space, movement of the rod engaging clip is restricted by contact with surfaces of the plunger receiving space preventing release of the rod from the plunger.

Dispensing assembly including an additive mixing device

A dispensing system includes a container containing a flowable base formulation to be dispensed, an additive mixing device, and an actuable pump engine which draws the flowable base formulation from the container and pumps it through the mixing device. The additive mixing device includes a body with an internal cavity, an additive ingredient within the cavity, and a flow path/mixing chamber between an input and an output. With each pump of the device the additive ingredient is introduced into, and mixed with, a flow of the base formulation traveling through the mixing device. Multiple additive mixing devices may be interchangeable for different formulations, and the mixing devices may be refillable.

System, device and method for delivery of biomaterials for fracture fixation

The invention relates to a delivery system, device and method for delivering biomaterials for fracture fixation (including augmented fixation), in particular, for delivery of bone cements. The mixing system ensures the biomaterial only commences setting upon extrusion from the mixer, cannula or during injection through an appropriate internal fracture fixation device, allowing for rapid closing by the surgeon. The system also permits the surgeon to cease injecting the cement for an extended period of time before continuing the injection in another area using the same cartridge, through the simple removal of one mixer and attaching another in its place. The invention also provides a method of delivery of biomaterials to a desired implantation site.

A check valve system includes a housing, a blocking element, and a biasing member. The housing has a passageway therethrough, the passageway including a first portion and a second portion, the first portion having a diameter that is less than a diameter of the second portion so as to form a stepped portion. The blocking element is disposed within the second portion of the passageway. The biasing member is disposed within the second portion of the passageway and configured to maintain the blocking element in contact with the stepped portion when under compression. The housing, the blocking element and the biasing member being obtainable by substantially simultaneously 3D printing, so as to be formed from one or more 3D printable materials.
