SLIP RESISTANT PROTECTIVE COATING FOR SINGLE-PLY MEMBRANES
A method of manufacturing a roofing membrane includes providing a waterproof membrane having a top major surface and applying a protective coating directly to the top major surface of the waterproof membrane without the use of an adhesive. The protective coating is configured to be removed from the top major surface.
Adaptor for increasing efficiency of a caulking procedure
The disclosed device is an adapter to an existing caulking methodology. The adapter is configured to perform the activity of protective taping, scraping and cleaning of excess compound to occur simultaneously with caulking. The disclosed adapter removably attaches to cannister holding cradle of a calking gun. At least one front roller presses a strip of tape against a side of an area being caulked or finished, with tape being drawn from a tape roller in back of the front roller.
Offset masking device and method
A mask includes a masking body including at least a first edge, a second edge, and a third edge, together defining at least part of a perimeter around a first surface and a second opposing surface. A standoff arrangement includes at least one projection extending from the first or second surface of the masking body. The at least one projection is connected to the first or second surface at a location inward from the at least one edge of the masking body, thereby defining a first overhanging portion of the masking body overhanging the at least one projection proximate to the at least one edge of the masking body.
TEMPLATES AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING APPLICATION OF MATERIALS AROUND PROTUBERANCES
A template for controlling application of material around a protuberance is disclosed. The protuberance extends from a workpiece and has a base. The template comprises a first portion and a second portion, removably attached to the first portion at a boundary. The first portion comprises a first-portion inner peripheral edge that at least partially defines a positioning opening and that is geometrically complementary to at least a portion of the base of the protuberance. The first portion also comprises a first-portion workpiece-facing surface that is adhesive-free. The second portion comprises a visual material-placement indicator, located on a second-portion environment-facing surface. The second portion also comprises an adhesive layer, located on at least a portion of a second-portion workpiece-facing surface.
Temporary decorative automotive/protective paint based on polyurethane dispersions
The present invention provides a homogeneous, sprayable liquid composition formulated for spraying onto a substrate to protectively cover at least a portion of a surface of the substrate, the sprayable liquid composition comprising: (a) an aqueous polyurethane dispersion (PUD); (b) a pigment; (c) a surfactant; and (d) a silica compound, the sprayable liquid composition, once dry, forming a solid, uniform, peelable coating adhered to the substrate without use of a separate adhesive coating layer, the peelable coating having a greater scratch resistance, and the peelable coating having a greater fuel staining resistance compared to peelable, specialty rubber coatings. The peelable coating may also find use in or as automotive OEM delivery wraps, transportation coatings, ride-hailing advertisements; agricultural and mining equipment; in architectural coatings such as floor coatings, bath tub and shower protective peelable coatings; and in home and office furniture protective coverings.
ADHESIVE COMPOSITION AND MASKING ARTICLE FOR PRODUCING PRECISE PAINT LINES
An adhesive article for masking a portion of a substrate surface from a liquid coating applied to the surface includes a support having first and second opposed major surfaces, and a cationic or zwitterionic adhesive composition disposed on at least a portion of at least one of the first and second opposed major surfaces. The adhesive composition provides a barrier that impedes the migration of the coating past the edge of the adhesive article.
LIQUID MASKING
A method of masking and pretreating a plastic part prior to being spray-painted including the steps of providing a plastic part having one or more adhesive bond lines (12, 12). The plastic part is typically an exterior automotive component having a painted show surface. Examples of plastic parts include but are not limited to lift gates, running boards, door trim pieces, spoilers, tail gates, front fascias and rear fascias. The method can also be used in connection with metal parts or any other application where a surface of the part will be painted and other surfaces on the part need to be protected from direct paint spray or paint overspray.
Templates and methods for controlling application of materials around protuberances
A method of applying material to a workpiece around a protuberance, extending from the workpiece, comprises advancing a template toward the workpiece to insert the protuberance into a positioning opening, located in a first portion of the template, until a first-portion workpiece-facing surface of the first portion is in contact with the workpiece. The method also comprises removably attaching at least a portion of a second-portion workpiece-facing surface of a second portion of the template to the workpiece. The method further comprises separating the first portion of the template from the second portion along the boundary while at least the portion of the second-portion workpiece-facing surface remains attached to the workpiece, applying the material to the workpiece around the protuberance such that the material overlaps the second-portion inner peripheral edge, and detaching the second portion of the template from the workpiece.
CURABLE COMPOSITION
An object of the present invention is to provide a masking material having excellent peeling properties even if the drying step is reduced, preferably without the drying step. There is provided a curable composition a prepolymer (A) having a urethane/urea bond and at least two acrylic polymerizable groups, and solid particles (B), and having a viscosity at 40 C. of at least 10 Pa.Math.s and at most 300 Pa.Math.s.
COMPOUND FOR PROTECTING WORK SURFACES
A compound for creating a protective coating on a surface. The compound includes a natural rubber liquid mixture. The compound also includes a dispersant added to the natural rubber liquid mixture.
