Optically Transparent Superhydrophobic Thin Film
A coating that can be easily applied, clear, well-bonded, and superhydrophobic is disclosed. In one aspect, a method for coating a substrate comprises providing a substrate having a surface, disposing a coating composition adjacent the surface, the composition comprising a hydrophobic fluorinated solvent, a binder comprising a hydrophobic fluorinated polymer, and hydrophobic fumed silica nanoparticles. Also disclosed is an article comprising a coating layer, the coating layer comprising a plurality of nanoparticles partially exposed on an outward surface thereof.
Method for manufacturing transparent pattern print steel plate
A method of manufacturing a transparent pattern printed steel plate includes forming a printed paint film layer by jetting transparent ink onto at least one surface of a steel plate, and curing the printed paint film layer with ultraviolet light to form a cured printed paint film layer. Further, a method of manufacturing a transparent pattern printed steel plate includes preparing a steel plate having a color painted film layer formed on at least one surface thereof, forming a printed paint film layer by jetting transparent ink onto the color painted film layer, and curing the printed paint film layer to form a cured printed paint film layer.
Plasma electrolytic polished diesel engine components
A method and system is provided for reducing surface roughness of a diesel engine component. The method and system may apply a voltage to a plasma electrolyte polishing cell. The plasma electrolyte polishing cell may include a diesel engine component and an aqueous electrolyte solution. The method and system may cause a plasma layer to form around a surface of the diesel engine component as a result of applying the voltage to the plasma electrolyte polishing cell. The method and system may terminate the voltage to the plasma electrolyte polishing cell. The method and system may apply a coating process to the diesel engine component.
Medical devices
Described are medical devices including expandable tubular bodies configured to be implanted into a lumen, wherein the outer surface of the expandable tubular bodies are coupled to a polymer(s).
METHOD OF COATING ALLOY WHEELS USING INTER-COAT PLASMA
An alloy wheel is formed having a three dimensional configuration defining a face and recessed surfaces. The face of the wheel is machined providing a smooth surface at the face and defining an edge between the smooth surface of the face and the recessed surfaces. A nozzle element for projecting a plasma jet toward the wheel is provided. The plasma jet is projected toward the smooth surface of the face, the edge, and toward at least a portion of the recessed surfaces forming an alloy oxide at least on the face and the edge disposed between the face and the recessed surfaces. A first polymeric coating is applied over the face, the recessed surfaces and the edge disposed between the face and the recessed surfaces.
Method for functionalizing a porous membrane covering of an optical sensor to facilitate coupling of an antithrom-bogenic agent
Methods of covalently attaching heparin to a membrane comprising plasma treating the membrane to produce an amino-functionalized membrane; and reacting the amino-functionalized membrane with heparin under conditions in which heparin becomes covalently attached to the amino-functionalized membrane, wherein said heparin is indirectly attached via a spacer to said amino-functionalized membrane and/or said heparin is attached from a single site in said heparin to a single site on said amino-functionalized membrane or to said spacer. Also disclosed are analyte sensors.
TRANSPARENT SELF-HEALING OMNIPHOBIC COATINGS
Processes for preparing oleophobic and hydrophobic coatings on a substrate. More particularly, the disclosure relates to omniphobic surface treatment of substrates such as glass, ceramic, glass-ceramic, and the like.
Device for the Surface Treatment of a Substrate, Comprising a Metallic Conveyor Belt
A device for the surface treatment of a substrate including a transport device, a vacuum suction device, a corona device and a coating device, is described. The transport device is formed as a conveyor belt. The conveyor belt is formed as a vacuum suction belt of the vacuum suction device, and the conveyor belt is formed as a counter electrode of the corona device.
Coating methods
Described herein are methods of coating both metallic and polymeric surfaces adding hydrophilicity comprising the steps mixing a coating composition comprising at least one polyol, at least one compound having at least two isocyanate groups, and an organic solvent; introducing nucleophilic functional groups on the surface thereby creating an active surface; subjecting the active surface to the coating composition thereby forming a coated surface; and curing the coated surface. Medical devices, for example, implantable medical devices can be coated by the methods described herein.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PLASMA TREATMENT
A method for treating a natural or synthetic leather object is provided. The method includes directing plasma onto a surface of an natural or synthetic object to form a plasma treated object, the object including at least one of a natural leather material and a synthetic leather material, applying adhesive onto the plasma treated object, and bonding the plasma treated object with a polymeric coating.
