EFFECT PIGMENT DISPERSION AND METHOD FOR FORMING MULTILAYER COATING FILM
The present invention provides an effect pigment dispersion that contains water, a wetting agent (A), a flake-effect pigment (B), and specific cellulose nanofibers (C). The effect pigment dispersion has a solids content of 0.1 to 10 parts by mass, per 100 parts by mass of all of the components of the effect pigment dispersion; and has a viscosity of 100 to 10000 mPa.Math.sec as measured with a Brookfield viscometer at a rotational speed of 6 revolutions per minute.
Low VOC water borne coating compositions with improved application properties
This description relates to low VOC water borne coating compositions with improved application properties based on a binder mixture comprising an urethanized polyester and an acrylic two-step polymer. This description further relates to the use of the low VOC water borne coating compositions for forming a coating, preferably for forming a clear coat, and more preferably for forming a clear coat in refinishing applications. Moreover, this description also relates to a method of forming a multilayer coating comprising a step of forming a coating layer by using the low VOC water borne coating composition.
COATING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COATING LARGE COMPONENTS
A coating system includes at least one putty layer and at least one clear coat layer. The at least one putty layer includes a putty having a binder component which has at least one polyaspartic acid ester and a hardener component which has at least one polyisocyanate. The at least one clear coat layer includes a clear coat coating material based on an RMA binder or a polyaspartic acid ester binder.
Vehicle Sheet Coating
A multilayer vehicle exterior coating is both durable and easy to install and conforms FAA standards. This vehicle sheet coating has no film or substrate resulting in a finished coating sheet that is about 6 mils thick (0.006″). The multilayer protective sheet material is suitable for application to vehicle exterior surface.
Decorative film and article to which the same is adhered
A decorative film that exhibits visual effects such as, e.g., stereoscopic effect, luxurious feel, and the like; and can also exhibit complex flip-flop properties that have expansion, depth, fluctuation, and the like, and whereby a pattern can be made visible or invisible depending on the viewing angle. In one embodiment, the decorative film can include, in order, a base layer and, adjacent to the base layer, a brightening layer having a concavo-convex surface; or a brightening base layer including a brightening material and having a concavo-convex surface; adjacent to the brightening layer or the brightening base layer, a transparent resin layer; and, adjacent to the transparent resin layer, a semi-transparent metallic layer.
PANELS COMPRISING A STRUCTURED LACQUER SURFACE
The present disclosure relates to a panel comprising a structured lacquer surface, having a base panel, a melamine resin layer, an adhesion promoter layer and a lacquer-containing top coat, the melamine resin layer being provided on a surface of the base layer, the adhesion promoter layer being provided on the melamine resin layer and the lacquer-containing top coat being provided on the adhesion promoter layer, the lacquer-containing top coat being structured. The disclosure also relates to a method for producing a panel of this type with a structured lacquer surface.
MULTILAYER COATED SUBSTRATES
A multilayer coated substrate is disclosed, comprising: (a) a cured basecoat layer formed from a curable basecoat layer comprising a color-imparting, pigment-containing basecoat composition applied directly to a cured electrodeposited primer coating without application of an intermediate primer surfacer coating, and (b) a curable unpigmented coating composition applied to the cured basecoat layer to form a clear or transparent coating layer over the cured basecoat layer. The cured electrodeposited primer coating is adhered to the substrate. The basecoat layer is deposited from a curable aqueous composition comprising: (i) a continuous phase comprising water, and (ii) a dispersed phase comprising: (A) polymeric particles containing carboxylic acid functionality; and (B) a polycarbodiimide. The polymeric particles are prepared by polymerization of a mixture of ethylenically unsaturated compounds, including a multi-ethylenically unsaturated monomer. The cured basecoat layer demonstrates a glass transition temperature less than 25° C.
Method Of Repairing Paint Film And Articles Comprising Repaired Paint Film
In order to repair any damage to an originally applied paint film, a method of the invention facilitates repair of the paint film by removing essentially only that portion of the paint film that is damaged. After removal of the damaged portion of the paint film, a series of abrading, application, and polishing steps results in a repaired portion of the paint film.
Transfer sheet, design product, and method of manufacturing design product
A transfer sheet includes a base sheet and a transfer body. The transfer body includes a liquid-soluble adhesive layer and a liquid-insoluble sheet main body layer laminated on the liquid-soluble adhesive layer. The sheet main body layer includes a sticking layer adjacently laminated on the adhesive layer and a design layer adjacently laminated on the sticking layer. The sticking layer includes a protruding portion protruding outward beyond an end edge of the design layer. The protruding portion is transparent.
