A biodegradable packaging material, a method of manufacturing the same, as well as products made of the material wherein the manufacture comprises extrusion onto a fibrous substrate one or more polymer coating layers including at least one layer of a polymer blend consisting of (i) 20-95 wt-% of polylactide having a high melt index of more than 35 g/10 min (210 C.; 2.16 kg), (ii) 5-80 wt-% of polybutylene succinate (PBS) or a biodegradable derivate thereof, and (iii) 0-5 wt-% of one or more polymeric additives. The components of the blend are melted and blended in connection with the extrusion step. The goal is to improve extrudability, increase machine speed in extrusion and maintaining good adhesiveness to the substrate and good heat-sealability of the coating. The products include disposable drinking cups and board trays, as well as sealed carton packages for solids and liquids.

Method for marking a transportation corridor

A method or applying a fast curing epoxy traffic marking composition is provided in which curing agents are coated on a carrier such as glass beads or porous silica. These carriers are dropped onto the epoxy coating and promote rapid curing of the top layer of the epoxy coating while the bottom layer is given additional time to adhere to the roadway surface.

A push switch capable of indicating a push state comprises a cap, movable stand, base, connecting member, light-emitting module, resilient component, circuit unit, and casing. The cap comprises a surface layer onto which a first UV ink layer, translucent chromium-plated layer, and second UV ink layer are sprayed sequentially. The connecting member is light-penetrable and fitted to the bottom of the cap. The movable stand comprises a body, connecting end portion connected to the connecting member, and limiting portion extending laterally from the body. The movable stand moves whenever the cap is pushed. The base has therein a receiving space. The light-emitting module, resilient component, and circuit unit are disposed in the receiving space. After at least one light-emitting component of the light-emitting module has emitted light, brightness and color of the light emitted is visible through the cap to indicate the push state of the push switch.

MULTILAYER COMPOSITE INCLUDING METALLIC GLASS AND POLYMER WITH REDUCED FATIGUE

A multilayer composite is provided. The composite may include a plurality of metallic glass layers interleaved with a plurality of polymer layers. The composite may have a thickness of up to 100 microns. The composite may have a fatigue strength of at least 1.5 times of the fatigue strength of a monolithic metallic glass having the same thickness as the composite and the same chemical composition as the metallic glass layer.

Methods of protecting a submerged surface include applying an adhesion-promoting layer onto a surface. An inner polymer layer is applied onto the adhesion-promoting layer. The inner polymer layer is impregnated with a biologically active chemical substance that inhibits biofouling-induced chemical, biological, and bio-proliferative damage. An outer polymer layer is applied onto the inner polymer layer. The outer polymer layer is impregnated with a biologically active chemical substance that inhibits biofouling-induced chemical, biological, and bio-proliferative damage and that repels biofouling organisms to prevent invasion of the inner polymer layer.

BATTERY WITH COATING AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR

Provided in a particular embodiment of the present invention is a batter with a coating. In the coating, a plasma coating of a siloxane monomer and an ester monomer of acrylic acid and homologues thereof is used as a base layer; a plasma coating of a multifunctional epoxide of an epoxide monomer with a carbon-carbon double bond structure, an epoxide monomer with a carbon-carbon triple bond structure or an epoxide monomer with two or more epoxy structures and an ester monomer of acrylic acid and the homologues thereof is used as an anti-corrosive layer; a plasma coating of a cyclosiloxane monomer is used as a hydrophobic layer; and all the layers are closely combined with each other to form, on the surface of the battery, an excellent protective coating free of halogens such as fluorine.

HEM FLANGE PLASMA TREATMENT PROCESS

A hem flange treatment method. The method includes air plasma direct spraying a hem flange at an outer edge of an outer panel thereof with a plasma polymer direct spray to cover the outer edge with a protective direct spray region. The method further includes air plasma overspraying an inner cut edge of an inner panel of the hem flange with a plasma polymer overspray to form a protective overspray region that covers the inner cut edge.

Method for manufacturing biodegradable packaging material, biodegradable packaging material and packages and containers made thereof

A biodegradable packaging material, a method of manufacturing the same, as well as products made of the material wherein a multilayer coating coextruded onto a fibrous substrate the multilayer coating comprising innermost and outermost layers of a blend comprising 20-95 wt-% of a higher melt index polylactide and 5-80 wt-% of another biodegradable polymer such as polybutylene succinate, and a middle layer containing a lower melt index polylactide alone. The goal is to increase machine speed in coextrusion while maintaining good adhesiveness to the substrate and good heat-sealability of the coating.
