A track set for a toy vehicle includes a track portion and an actuatable mechanism. The track portion defines a track path between a first end of the track portion and a second end of the track portion. The actuatable mechanism attempts to capture a toy vehicle as the toy vehicle moves along the track path, between the first end and the second end, in response to select triggerings generated by the toy vehicle traversing the track path. The actuatable mechanism removes the toy vehicle from the track portion when the actuatable mechanism captures the toy vehicle. The actuatable mechanism may include a carriage that captures the toy vehicle. The carriage is initially disposed in a rest position that is off-path from the track path and is selectively movable, along a carriage pathway, to an actuated position that is also off-path from the track path.

A plurality of rails is coupled to an upper surface of the panel so that the rails extend annularly and in parallel around the panel. A respective groove, which is complementary to the rails, is positioned in a bottom of a respective shell so that the groove is positioned to selectively insert a respective rail. Each shell is coupled to a respective blower module, which in turn is coupled to a respective controller. The panel, the rails and the shells are magnetized so that each shell is repelled by the panel and the respective rail to levitate the shell above the panel. The controller is positioned to command the blower module to selectively expel air to propel the respective shell along the panel with the respective rail positioned to guide the respective shell.

A magnetic tracked toy assembly for entertainment includes a panel, which is annular, and plurality of shells. A plurality of rails is coupled to an upper surface of the panel so that the rails extend annularly and in parallel around the panel. A respective groove, which is complementary to the rails, is positioned in a bottom of a respective shell so that the groove is positioned to selectively insert a respective rail. Each shell is coupled to a respective blower module, which in turn is coupled to a respective controller. The panel, the rails and the shells are magnetized so that each shell is repelled by the panel and the respective rail to levitate the shell above the panel. The controller is positioned to command the blower module to selectively expel air to propel the respective shell along the panel with the respective rail positioned to guide the respective shell.

A remote control is preferably configured to enable the user to command the movement of the accessories around the track of each shoe independently. The remote is equipped with a speaker to facilitate the playback of audio and sound effects pertinent to the movement of the accessory. Accessories may be also equipped with internal batteries to facilitate the illumination of interior lights and/or headlights of the accessory.

A system and method is provided for a toy race track. Preferred embodiments of the present invention operate in conjunction with a vehicle affixed to a track, wherein the track is supported in relation to at least one fixed surface via a plurality of support structures. In one embodiment, the track comprises a plurality of flexible sections, allowing a user to construct a track resembling a rollercoaster, having steep curves, upside-down portions, etc. In one embodiment, the vehicle includes a plurality rollers that can be used to both affix the vehicle to the track and propel the vehicle along the track. By affixing the vehicle to the track, the vehicle is prevented from leaving the track during extreme situations (e.g., steep curves, upside-down portions, etc.).
