Rotor with forward-swept struts for pressure screen cylinders

The present disclosure is directed to rotors for pressure screens with cylinders for screening solid contaminants from a solid slurry. The rotor includes a cylindrical hub, a plurality of foils spaced radially outward from the hub, and a plurality of struts coupling the plurality of foils to the hub. The struts include a forward edge having a forward-swept shape that creates streamlines that move contaminants and fibers from the general local flow field and those dislodged from the inner surface of the pressure screen cylinder radially inboard towards the hub. The streamlines produced by the forward-swept struts can reduce or prevent deposition of solid contaminants on the forward edge of the strut and on the leading edge of the foil. The struts can also include a release region proximate the inboard end of the strut.

ROTOR WITH FORWARD-SWEPT STRUTS FOR PRESSURE SCREEN CYLINDERS

The present disclosure is directed to rotors for pressure screens with cylinders for screening solid contaminants from a solid slurry. The rotor comprising a cylindrical hub, at least one foil spaced radially outward from the cylindrical hub, and at least one strut coupling the at least one foil to the cylindrical hub, wherein the at least one strut is a forward-swept strut having a forward edge. Additionally disclosed are methods of using the rotor.

A scrap collection device according to the embodiment includes a mesh conveyor, a peeler, and one or more collection containers. The mesh conveyor includes a mesh belt configured to receive a fluid mixture of a liquid and scraps from above to trap at least a portion of the scraps and to allow the liquid to pass, and moves the mesh belt. The peeler peels the scraps from a face of the mesh belt in a state where the face of the mesh belt is directed downward. The collection containers collect the peeled scraps.

A device for retaining and removing filaments of plastic material, or angel's hairs, from a flow of plastic material in form of granules, powders or flakes is disclosed. The device includes a main body defining a through channel through which the plastic material flows, a plurality of retractable elements carried by the main body and are movable between a retracted position, in which they leave the through channel unobstructed, and an extracted position, in which they protrude into the through channel for trapping the angel's hairs flowing together with the flow of plastic material along the through channel, and an actuating system for moving each retractable element between the retracted and extracted positions.
