DECODER FOR A MODEL TRAIN AND METHOD OF OPERATING A DECODER FOR A MODEL TRAIN
A decoder for model train locomotives or rolling stock including: a data input; a sensor, separate from the data input and arranged to receive a first energy signal and transmit a first trigger signal; a memory element configured to store a first address identifying the decoder; and a processor configured to receive first data including a group identity address, receive the first trigger signal; and store the group identity address in the memory element. The sensor is arranged to: receive a second energy signal; and transmit, in response to receiving the second energy signal, a second trigger signal. The processor is configured to: receive the second trigger signal; receive second data including the first address and first operating instructions, associated with the first address, for a device for a model train locomotive or rolling stock; and transmit the first operating instructions. The group identity address identifies a group of decoders.
Multi-channel model train sound optimization system and method
A multi-channel model train sound reproduction system, in which digital sound files are assigned to a particular channel. The channel assignment may be fixed or variable depending on operation state. For the variable embodiments, channel assignment is preferably done in real time according to the configuration that will produce the highest quality sound reproduction.
System and Method for Model Train Control
A system and method is provided for using a model train module to control at least one feature of the model train and receive information on the model train, where individual model train commands are transmitted simultaneously using different protocols (e.g., TMCC, Bluetooth, RF, etc.), thereby allowing the user to control different model trains having different communication protocols. In a preferred embodiment, identifying information is also acquired from the model train and provided to the remote control, thereby allowing the remote control to provide identifying information to the user (e.g., train name, train number, status of virtual consumables, etc.) and a train-specific user interface (e.g., one that includes controls and/or identifying information for a specific type of train).
