Provided herein are systems and methods for containing a viscous material, such as a coolant, on a roll and/or a roll processed engineering material (e.g., a metal strip). In particular, a viscous material containment system can include a movable seal and a gas delivery device. A method for cooling a roll can include applying a viscous material, such as a coolant, to the roll and containing the viscous material on the roll using the viscous material containment system. In some cases, the viscous material containment system can be used to facilitate removal of the viscous material from the roll and/or the roll processed engineering material.

The present invention discloses an annular cooling device for large-scale cylindrical shell, which comprises a plurality of inner jet devices and outer jet devices; the inner jet devices are arranged inside the cylindrical shell along the inner periphery; the outer jet devices are arranged outside the cylindrical shell along the outer periphery; each inner jet device and each outer jet device are oppositely arranged; the inner jet devices are used for spraying cooling medium to the inner wall of the cylindrical shell; the outer jet devices are used for spraying the cooling medium to the outer wall of the cylindrical shell; and the spray ranges of each inner jet device and each outer jet device in the axial direction of the cylindrical shell are both greater than the length of the cylindrical shell.
Pre-heating and thermal control of work rolls in metal rolling processes and control systems thereof
Systems and methods for using full-width hot sprays to pre-heat rolling mills prior to processing of metal sheet or plate are described herein. The hot sprays may be individually controlled. Using hot sprays can allow the rolling mill to reach operating temperature and achieve a desired thermal crown so that metal sheet or plate may be processed immediately within tolerances for flatness and gauge accuracy. Pre-heating of rolling mills can eliminate the need of the rolling mill to operate in a transitional period of work roll heating and can increase efficiency by eliminating or reducing scrap material and mill downtime. Hot sprays may also be incorporated with existing coolant systems to provide thermal control systems for rolling mills with bi-directional temperature controls.
Systems and methods for cooling a roll in metal processing
Provided herein are systems and methods for containing a viscous material, such as coolant, applied to cool a roll or a roll processed engineering material such as a metal strip. In particular, a viscous material containment system can include a housing, a viscous material delivery system, a plurality of movable seals and a plurality of gas delivery devices. A method for cooling a roll can include applying a vicious material, such as coolant, to the roll and containing the viscous material on the roll using the viscous material containment system. In some cases, the viscous material containment system can be used to facilitate removal of the viscous material from the roll.

FACILITY AND METHOD FOR COLD ROLLING METAL STRIP
In a facility for cold rolling a metal strip in a circulating oil-feeding system by jetting a low concentration coolant, in a neighborhood of an inlet side of a work roll and jetting a high concentration coolant at an upstream side of the jetting position of the low concentration coolant to conduct rolling, the metal strip is cold rolled with the cold rolling facility provided with a control equipment for varying a jetting amount of the low concentration coolant in accordance with a rolling rate so that a tip of a liquid pool of the low concentration coolant formed on a surface of a steel sheet at an inlet side of the work roll does not reach a jetting position of the high concentration coolant, whereby the rolling can be performed without losing a plate-out property even if the rolling rate is decreased.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING RING-ROLLED PRODUCT
A method for manufacturing a ring-rolled product, which manufactures the ring-rolled product from a ring material, includes a step of rolling the ring material, which has an operation of rolling the ring material from both inner and outer circumferential sides thereof between a mandrel roll and a main roll in a state of rotating the ring material toward one side in a circumferential direction thereof, and induction-heating the ring material by induction heating elements. An induction heating element is disposed on only an outer circumferential side of the ring material or is disposed on each of both the inner and outer circumferential sides in a region immediately before the rolling, or an inclined portion is provided in an outer-peripheral edge portion of a coil in the induction heating element.

A lubrication device (1) for applying a lubricant when rolling a rolling material. The lubrication device (1) includes an extruded profile (3), through which run lubricant ducts (41) and at least one carrier medium duct (42), at least one connection block (5, 6) and nozzles (7). The connection block (5, 6) is connected to the extruded profile (3) and has lubricant connection ducts (54) that are each connected to one lubricant duct (41) of the extruded profile (3). The nozzles (7) are connected to the extruded profile (3) and are designed to create and emit a lubricant-carrier medium mixture consisting of lubricant and a carrier medium.
