ALUMINUM IMPACT EXTRUDED BOTTLE WITH THREADED NECK MADE FROM RECYCLED ALUMINUM AND ENHANCED ALLOYS
The present invention relates generally to forming a threaded neck in a metal bottle manufactured by a process known as impact extrusion. More specifically, the present invention relates to methods, apparatus and alloy compositions used in the impact extrusion manufacturing of containers and other articles with sufficient strength characteristics to allow threading the container necks to receive a threaded closure on the threaded neck.
Method to mechanically produce a repeatable seam in a can
A can seaming apparatus and methods of forming a seam on a can and lid assembly is disclosed. The apparatus includes one or more seaming arms pivotably attached to a shaft, a seam roller attached to one end of each seaming arm and a cam system. The cam system includes one or more cams associated with the end of each seaming arm opposite the seam roller. Force is transferred to each seaming arm through rotation of the one or more cams. The seaming arm then pivots and moves the associated roller into a seaming area of a can and lid assembly to create a seam.
TAPERED METAL CUP AND METHOD OF FORMING THE SAME
A metal cup and method of forming the same is provided. Metal cups of the present disclosure comprise a plurality of thin, straight-walled sections and a tapered profile. A domed portion is provided in the bottom of the cup. The cup may comprise a disposable cup, a reusable cup, or a recyclable cup.

System and methods for producing a deep drawn cup
An apparatus for forming a deep drawn cup can include a double die that is adapted to form a cup shape and iron a wall thickness of the drawn cup in a single operation.
SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING A DEEP DRAWN CUP
An apparatus for forming a deep drawn cup can include a double die that is adapted to form a cup shape and iron a wall thickness of the drawn cup in a single operation.
METAL CONTAINERS AND PROCESS AND INSTALLATION FOR MANUFACTURING METAL CONTAINERS
Process and installation for manufacturing metal containers and the metal container obtained with the process. The process includes supplying a metal disc, extruding the disc to form a metal container, applying a coating on the inside of the container, deforming the open end of the container to obtain a neck with a curled portion. The curled portion is pressed to obtain a flat surface in a plane normal to the main axis of the container. The process further includes machining the curled portion that has been previously pressed to remove the coating from the curled portion, leaving the metal of the container exposed.
Thread Forming Apparatus And Associated Method
A thread forming apparatus includes an outer ring having a plurality of projections disposed around an inner periphery thereof, the outer ring being structured to remain stationary, an inner ring including a plurality of recesses disposed around an outer periphery thereof, the inner ring being structured to be moved radially toward a sidewall of a can body positioned between the outer ring and the inner ring and rotated against the sidewall and the projections. The rotation against the can sidewall and the projections causes can material to flow into the recesses and form a plurality of threads around the inner circumference of the can body. An actuator is coupled to the outer ring and the inner ring and structured to hold the outer ring stationary and the inner ring radially and rotate the inner ring against the sidewall.
THREAD FORMING APPARATUS AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
A thread forming apparatus includes a punch assembly having a punch cam and a punch. The punch includes a body having a first end engaged with the punch cam and a second end having a projection moved radially in response to engagement with the punch cam. The apparatus further includes a die assembly adjacent the punch assembly and defining a clearance therebetween to receive a portion of a sidewall of a can body. The die assembly includes a die cam and a die including a top portion having a die recess and a bottom portion engaged with the die cam, the die being moved radially in response to engagement with the die cam. The projection is structured to deform the portion of the sidewall of the can body into the die recess in a manner which forms the thread.
Thread Forming Apparatus And Associated Method
A thread forming apparatus includes a punch mechanism including a punch shaft and a cylindrical punch having a plurality of circumferentially spaced-apart punch projections, the punch mechanism being structured to be moved radially and rotate continuously about the rotation axis of the punch mechanism in a first direction; a die mechanism including a die shaft and a cylindrical die having a plurality of circumferentially spaced-apart die recesses, the die mechanism being structured to be moved radially and rotate continuously about the rotation axis of the die mechanism in a second direction opposite the first direction; and an actuator connected to the punch shaft and the die shaft and structured to rotate and radially move the punch mechanism and the die mechanism relative to a central axis of a can body for forming a plurality of threads on the can body.
