Container, and Selectively Formed Shell, and Tooling and Associated Method for Providing Same
A shell, a container employing the shell, and tooling and associated methods for forming the shell are provided. The shell includes a center panel, a circumferential chuck wall, an annular countersink between the center panel and the circumferential chuck wall, and a curl extending radially outwardly from the chuck wall. The material of at least one predetermined portion of the shell is selectively stretched relative to at least one other portion of the shell, thereby providing a corresponding thinned portion.
END CAP SEAMING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SEAMING AN END CAP
An apparatus, system and method for seaming an end cap to an end of a target object using a fixed, rigid roller carriage that is configured to move along a direction that is orthogonal to a rotation axis of the end cap and the target object. The end cap seaming apparatus and system preferably comprise servo motors that move the roller carriage and rotate the end cap and the target object. The end cap seaming apparatus and system may be configured to learn the shape of the end cap and the target object by learning a shape of an end cap holding member on which the end cap is held. An automated method of seaming the end cap to the target object is executed based on the learned shape of the end cap holding member.

Method to mechanically produce a repeatable seam in a can
A can seaming apparatus and methods of forming a seam on a can and lid assembly is disclosed. The apparatus includes one or more seaming arms pivotably attached to a shaft, a seam roller attached to one end of each seaming arm and a cam system. The cam system includes one or more cams associated with the end of each seaming arm opposite the seam roller. Force is transferred to each seaming arm through rotation of the one or more cams. The seaming arm then pivots and moves the associated roller into a seaming area of a can and lid assembly to create a seam.
Can seaming apparatus
A can seaming apparatus including a frame, a can handling assembly, a can driving assembly and a seaming assembly. The can seaming apparatus is configured to seal a lid to a can through a double seam can seal. The can is positioned and clamped between an upper and a lower chuck. The can driving assembly spins the can and the upper and lower chucks about an axis. The seaming assembly includes two rollers mounted to a roller frame which pivots about an axis relative to the frame. The roller frame can be pivoted so as to selectively have the two rollers sequentially engage the can to form the necessary crimping operations.
Seaming device for sealing a container
A seaming device includes a seaming head for fixing the lid to the container, first and second seaming rollers and a rotary drive. The seaming head is arranged between the first and second seaming rollers such that the container with the lid is fixed centered between the first and second seaming rollers in the operating state. The rotary drive is drive-connected to the first and second seaming rollers, the first and second seaming rollers rotated about the seaming head by the rotary drive, so that, in the operating state, the first and second seaming rollers are moved along a circumference of the container immovably fixed by the seaming head, and a container flange of the container are seamed with a lid flange of the lid.
Lid supply for a sealer and a sealer
A sealer for sealing a container includes a working space, the container capable of being sealed with a lid from a plurality of lids in the working space, a housing surrounding the working space, and a lid supply configured to supply the plurality of the lids in a lid stack to the working space. The lid supply includes a first section which is arranged in the working space in such a way that the first section is surrounded by the housing, and a second section arranged outside the housing, and the lid supply comprising a seal arranged between the first section and the second section in such a way that the first section is capable of being sealed off from the second section.
APPARATUS FOR APPLYING A CONTAINER CLOSURE TO A CONTAINER, AND CLOSER
An apparatus for applying a container closure to a container, for example for applying a can lid to a can, for example in a beverage filling plant, includes an application unit having a closure receptacle for receiving a container closure, and an ejector unit movable relative to the application unit for ejecting a container closure received in the closure receptacle, wherein an ejector part, for example in the form of an ejector screen, which comes into physical contact with the container closure, for ejecting the container closure is arranged on the ejector unit on its side facing the closure receptacle, wherein the ejector part is detachably attached to the ejector unit via a quick-coupling mechanism. A closer including the apparatus is also described.
Set up tool for can seamer machines
A can seamer machine set up tool (56) is used to set and verify dimensional relationships, orientations and operational tolerances of components in a can seamer machine (10). The exemplary tool includes a can plug (58) that is configured to engage a lower chuck (66) of the machine. A seaming chuck gage (60) is configured to engage a seaming chuck (36) of the machine. The exemplary tool is configured to enable set up activities at a makeup angular position of a can seaming turret (18) without the need to remove components from the machine such as the seaming chuck, a lid knockout pad, or seaming levers and seaming rolls.
System for dynamically adjusting positioning of a toolpack of a can bodymaker and can bodymaker including same
A toolpack arrangement for a can bodymaker having a frame. The toolpack includes a toolpack having a number of forming dies and an adjustment arrangement. The adjustment includes a number of adjustment mechanisms coupled between the toolpack and the frame, each adjustment mechanism being dynamically adjustable so as to selectively adjust the positioning of the toolpack with regard to the frame and/or a ram body of the can bodymaker as the ram body passes within the toolpack during normal can body making operations of the can bodymaker.
